It never does for me either. What I do is keep a local copy of the latest Magisk and just re-flash it after each ROM update.

I had the same problem and I fixed it.
i will try to explain it as good as possible.

From twrp you will enter and first put on sd the rom, magisk.zip, magisk manager,and magisk uninstaller.

You enter twrp first install the magisk uninstaller after reboot to recovery. Then wipe dalvic cache, cache, and system.

Then go to mount and tik everything.
Go into the file manager and look in the root for anything related to magisk.
Check every folder one by one the folders for anything related again with magisk or topjohnwu name file and delete it.

After deleting everything you re-wipe and reboot to recovery.
Then you install Rom and start without magisk.
After booting first time then you will install magisk and magisk manager and it will all be ok.

Don't worry you will not lose any of your data.

My Chinese Mi9 Transparent Edition is still on Widevine L3 in fact as far as I have checked it has always been on L3. DRM Info tells me fingerprint is Huawei CLT-L29 ?? Can I push it to Widevine L1 ? Is this fingerprint OK ??

Got two nasty bugs on Mi 9 SE.

1) Since the first Android 10 ROM (or maybe the second one) my signal reception has gone bad, cellular AND wifi, which now frequently goes from 5ghz 433mbps down to 2.4ghz 72mbps and lower

2) Every now and then when connecting a paired Bluetooth device, volume goes automatically down to 50%, which wasn't before (I always keep my volume at 90%)

Is there something wrong with modem/baseband? Are those solvable?

Best weekly so far for me (Mi 9):

Widevine L1, Google Voice Match working, AI button shortcuts working, PiP with full screen gestures working normally, beautiful new music controls, great battery life.

I did a clean install. Will keep this for a while if there are no major changes in future updates.

Because I flash the stable version and in the list of models it says it has android 10 but when i go to settings i have Android 9

I am having the same problem with Bluetooth, but wifi and cellular is working fine here. I am also using a mi 9 SE.

I've also been having bugs with Bluetooth ever since the first Android 10 beta. But it's a different bug. The problem is that every time I try to connect to my car's Bluetooth it doesn't automatically connect as media device, only as a hands free device. In order to connect as media device, to play songs and such, I need to to head over to the device' Bluetooth settings and disable and enable the media toggle. It worked flawlessly on every other Android version before 10.
Other than that, nothing else to complain. I also notice a bit of battery drain I guess

Perhaps maybe try removing all screen lock options and also google accounts before flashing ?
If you're coming from another rom , then you need to full format.
