You shouldn't try to "simplify" what I said. This is far more work than you describe.
You need to fix framework resource references in MiuiSystemUI.apk's Smali files, then you need to update your *existing* framework.jar and framework-res.apk by adding a few missing id resources and one string resource to framework-res.apk, then updating some Smali files in framework.jar.
It takes some patience to get everything right, but the results are smooth. Works perfectly here.

Possibly, what I can say is no more double and disappearing notifications bug on My Mi Max 2 and Redmi Note 3 with xiaomi.eu 8.1.18

Install "Material Terminal" through the Play Store and open the app.
In the terminal input, write:

settings put global charging_sounds_enabled 0

See if it works.

In my phone (Mi5c China Developer Miui 9 rom 8.1.18 Android 7.1.2 and without twrp and root etc) work all property. 1 message ok(show normal in status bar, home screen and lock screen), 2 mesagge ok(not desapire(show normal in status bar, home screen and lock screen)), 3 message ok(show normal in status bar, home screen and lock screen).
Led notification,vibrations and sound work property on home and lock screen from Whatsapp, GG, Wechat,QQ,QQi,Gmail, Messenger. More apps i dont use example Telegram etc.

Good for you. Look how many people are complaining about the same issue. That's a bug, and it exists for many. I don't know why you don't see it.

Interesting, the double and disappear notification bug on Whatsapp seems to be fixed in Mi Max 2 on xiaomi.eu 8.1.18.

I'm still having notifications disappear in Gmail, especially when I leave my device locked. The screen would turn on, but the notifications shade has been wiped clean. Don't know about Whatsapp.

I'm still having notifications disappear in Gmail, especially when I leave my device locked. The screen would turn on, but the notifications shade has been wiped clean. Don't know about Whatsapp.

I did try with locked screen and screen off, no problem, no notifications disappearing bug.

I'm using Global ROM's System UI, so I solved the issue for myself until China ROM gets fixes, if it gets fixed at all...

I've just tested 100% that the notification does not always go away with the second message. twice it did not go away when the second message arrived. it's a very strange thing.

Yes, the behavior is inconsistent, which makes tracking down the issue even harder.
