Nice, installed the twrp that OP recomended, then install the new update on the mi5 and my phone is now hard bricked, can't turn it on, not detected by pc anything!

MI5 Pro: after installing with TWRP 3.0.2.3 Simcards not detected. Tried to go back to previous version but I am now in a bootloop :-(
Also reinstalling via TWRP Backup ends in bootloop.

U need latest supersu 2.78 r5

To avoid all issues, i ALWAYS wipe cache and Dalvik/ART when i load any roms update. i never encounter any issues and my phone is working like a charme ^^

Settings > Home screen > Lock home screen layout: switch to disable

I did it on two 128GB mi5 WITH dalvik/art cleanup after installation. No issues on both. TWRP HAS to be 3.0.2.3

If you want root on Mi5 nougat you should wait for first successful reboot to new system and then install latest SuperSU SR5 via TWRP otherwise you will lost IMEI #2 and SIM cards and Mobile network settings will be ****ed up.
