No. It is not.Sorry for my ignorance, but is unlocking the bootloader and installing custom ROM not root? I always thought that rooting was that. I just want to unlock the bootloader and install xiaomi.eu I don't need anything else. What should I do? Thank you
Unlock the bootloader is just to allow you to flash new rom (custom) by TWRP or other recovery tool. You do not get root access by this.
Root is more. Check internet for details and difference !
Steps:
1. unlock bootloader - see post 1
2. install latest TWRP for your device with adb using your PC or MAC
3. reboot to recovery
4. format /data partition
5. reboot to recovery
6. copy latest xiaomi.eu rom zip for your device to phone storage
7. flash rom zip / wipe cache & davlik / reboot to system and wait ~10 min for new rom system to boot
