Can't update via OTA using OrangeFox recovery R10 for RN7, is TWRP a must-have?

Hi everyone and thanks devs for your amazing job.
Since 10.4 I have a very anoying network issue on my Mi8.
It can't connect to internet when I come from a place without network. For example I had to switch OFF and ON the DATA toggle (or Airplane mode) to get it back even 10 min after being out of my undergroud car park, even tought I had full LTE network shown on screen.

My provider is Bouygues Telecom (France). I had this issue on the first releases of MIUI 10 then disapear with 10.3 and came back with 10.4.

Hi I have the same problem black screen and reboot in my Mi8

On dipper i tried flashing a few times and kept getting forced reboot into recovery.
I tried going back to previous build and then had the same problem!!
I then formatted my data twice and reflashed 9.7.4 and now it is working again.
It would be nice to know beforehand if a major wipe or format is necessary before i decide to update!
I could make better use of my time and wait until i decide to spend a couple of hours doing a complete new setting up of my phone.
It isn´t hard to do with backups at hand but it does take some time to make sure everything is in the proper mode once again before i can leave the house.

noob question what kind of automatic updates do i get if i flash this rom. do i have to manualy update weekly or the phone updater takes care of that?

I can't get this update in the updater, mi9

Important annoucement about xiaomi.eu 9.7.4

In this week xiaomi.eu 9.7.4 will NOT BE pushed via OTA.
Team decided about it, because we discovered some bugs related to system stability (for example - can't wake up screen via fingerprint) in Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S (at least). We will release it, but you must install it manually, because you must flash it consciously. These issues which we discovered could not be reproduced in any device (afaik in one of our mi8 working well, when in second not - in my Mi 8 SE also working well), so just check consciously on your device and send then feedback to us on xiaomi.eu forum.

Also - recommended to do backup at least data, system, boot in TWRP before flash 9.7.4 just in case any problems!

We're sorry for any inconvenience.

The update to 9.7.4 ended in constant reboots into the TWRP. I flashed the 9.6.27 again.
With Magisk 19.3. Again, constant reboots into the TWRP. So cache and dalvik formatted, 9.6.27 without Magisk flashed and everything fine.
I'm waiting for the 9.7.11. Hopefully again by OTA.

Thanks for reply.

I am still facing a problem during installation of xiaomi.eu 9.7.4 for Mi 8 SE:

- unlocked bootloader
- mi flash with 9.2.15 CN dev ROM
- installed and botted into TWRP 2.3.2-1227 via fastboot
- Format Data in TWRP (to remove encryption)
- Reboot into TWRP
- copied xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_9.7.4_v10-9.zip to SD card
- installed xiaomi.eu 9.7.4

-> after reboot the MI 8 SE was stuck in fastboot

Do I have to use RM Forceencrypt from TWRP?
You must İnstalled 9.7.4 with TWRP 3.0
