Well, How familiar are you with ADB Drivers?
Please Go to Youtube and search "how to install twrp with adb"
you'll find tons of videos on that topic, that would be much helpful than reading comments here on process!!

You'll need correct twrp (for Mi 8 SE)
I have given the link to download twrp1217 and twrp1227, check my previous comments in this thread

Download twrp 1217 on your PC
flash it via adb in your pc
download 9.1.10 rom zip in your phone
flash it via twrp in your phone
then download and install 1227 via ADB

done!

Settings/Simcards/(my simcard)/Preferred network

and choose.

Now I rebooted without any simcards, and the setting is still active.
LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)

And I have 4 cells "W-CDMA" available.(?)

I suppose those can be used for emergency calls, even without any simcards?

Widgets disappear after reboot on Mi8.

I found out, that this only happens, when the new option to hide the notch is activated.
Then, after a reboot, my google widgets are visible, but after the sync they vanish - maybe it's a rendering problem?

Updated successfully MI 8 SE from 9.1.3 to 9.1.10 using TWRP 3.2.3-1227

Checked also that TWRP is still installed and working after the update.

Switch to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE" [aka LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)] manually. It will persist even after reboot.

I have mi 5x with 8.12.13 on it. Last time I had the black screen after update and had to go to china rom and back to eu rom to solve the issue. Is it safe to update to this rom?
I dont want to lose all my data again...

Firstly I am so greatful to you for your respond.

Now I am using Stabile 10.2.
So in this rom 1217 will work? Can I install without any problem?

then second question
While ı was flashing the 9.1.10 should ı do 4 wipe and format data?

third question
When I flashed the rom 9.1.10 will it start or my phone will stay on fastboot?
