Installed the rom on Rosy/Redmi 5.
Issue is that I cannot add fingerprint. It failes on the process where I have to move my fingers.

Can you instead press the sensor with different part of finger? Basically do the 1st step again? Had this issue on poco

Before wiping format data. backup your internal storage before format.

Monitoring battery life

Had same problems. In my opinion it's the the problem with data partition - can't mount this partition. In data partition there are the informational for pattern/pin fingerprint. If you can't write, there's no way to learn a new fingerprint.
Did you tried if you could mount data in TWRP?

For anyone who's have problems with the Encrypt of the internal Storage i give you a Solution:

1.Do a Backup for all your Datas
2.Put your phone in Fastboot Mode and Connect to the PC
3.If you have ADB tools installed, go to CMD and put the comand "fastboot format usardata"

This could solve the problem dudes

Among other things, com.xiaomi.joyose is responsible for the Step Counter feature of your device.

Do a fresh install, I had battery issues when I tried to upgrade from 8.11.8 but once I wiped and fresh installed I got very good battery life, on par with what I had with global stable.
Overnight drain around six percent, hourly drain while in use around seven to eight percent

EDIT: alright it was blocking because I was a newly registered user with no posts, after sending my first post it seems now I can reply even with VPN on. seems the filter just goes hyperactive on 1st posts

I mean formatting everything and then flashing 8.11.15, then go into bootloader and do

fastboot format userdata

of course you should backup everything before doing it

Flashed this, coming back from Pixel Experience 9.0 because I wanted to give MIUI 10 a try hoping for something smooth.

So far it all seems good. Had the decryption problem but solved by choosing format data in TWRP (not wipe, in case anyone is confused).

I have an issue: When I am video calling on WhatsApp and exit the app, my video feed is paused (like in the iPhone). Normal Android behavior is to keep sending video and having a small window with the other person. Is this a MIUI issue? It seems to have to do with drawing over apps - can I fix it somehow?

Edit: I am on Redmi Note 4 Global - so I am limited to Android 7... Is the WhatsApp background video a Picture in Picture implementation, and thus limited only to Oreo and above?? I guess I got spoiled being on AOSP based ROMs for so long... :/
