I have no bluetooth problems with my Mi5. Connects to any device.

(Mi5 w/ v7.5.25)

My problems occur with my vehicle entertainment system, the Mi5 will connect for a few minutes then drops.

It seems to related to sitting in "idle" mode, i.e. without an active connection.

When playing music from the Mi5 it is OK, but when having the phone functions connected and in idle, no music playing, etc, the connection is released after a minute or two.

There is. Settings, sim card & mobile networks, sim card settings, preferred network.
Or just search for preferred network setting.

How does this rom compared to the previous version? Im currently on 7.4.27 version, should i update to the latest version?
How's the performance, battery, camera, and especially gps for google maps driving mode in mi5 with the latest version?

Basically the same. Some new features added, and Chinese characters on lockscreen when charging, nothing more.

this is almost impossible to get a decent feedback on mi6 before a few months after some people really run it ...

as I see, it took 4 months to get something working on mi5 and mine is still far from rn3 pro or rn4x today. Even considering replacing it with my rn4x !
Mi5S is total garbage.
mi note 2 and mi mix are buggy with bad camera.

first impression to me is that xiaomi is excellent in mid range, but far from expectations with high end.
I am tracking the mi6 as you do, but by default my feeling is based on low level of satisfaction on their high end. So I will let people
installing, receiving global rom and see if a lot of devices are failing like mi5 after 2 or 3 months.

generally satisfied.
what frustrating me most is the charging is rather slow even with screen off, and it can only be charged up to 87%. While with MIUI china stable 8.2.17, it charges very fast.

For me the newest Version is not good, i have heating problems, the weather app does not actualisize automaticly, also performing problems but i must say i have the mi global rom installed
