you're right... i did forget that is a 3rd version to asian market...

ps. at xda a user wrote a thread about It. Describes redmi note 4 / 4x hardware and variants (snapdragon, mtk, sensors, etc). It's very interesting reading...

I use FasterGPS to fix the country for my GPS since many years. It works very well but nneds root.

br.pool.ntp.org <<< Brazil server... you can edit gps.config or use FasterGPS...

It's better and easy way than edit file manually (both methods requires root)

I suspect that an important bug appeared

Try reboot once, no heat up or battery drain on my Mi Max 2 with 7.11.16.

If you have 2 Mi Max2, you'll notice. I got 7.11.2 on the other one and 7.11.6 on the other one with both limitless theme default. I run the same game and 7.11.6 drains faster, not significant but it drains faster. I don't use Xiaomi services so I uninstalled them all, mi cloud, mi msg, mi etc.,

The heat is bearable but still noticeable.

it is possible considering that in the official miui.com site the 7.11.23 update files of newer devices, e.g. mi 6, mi mix, etc., are nowhere to be found. cross our fingers that suspected bugs are quashed promptly and in a timely manner.

Noted, I'm using AccuBattery to monitor battery usage and I didn't see any unusual drains, but I don't do games, maybe that's why....

as observed in the official miui.com site, the 7.11.23 update file for max 2's china developer rom has just been uploaded to its download servers. the corresponding eu rom for the device should be available soon.., hopefully.
