I'm enjoying this new ROM on redmi note 8 but I have some issues:
1. The steps counter widget doesn't count unless you remove it and bring it back.
2. The two new widgets doesn't enter dark mode when the dark mode is toggled on.
3. Battery drainage... Android core apps..

Yea, face issues 1 and 2 also.
Since these are relatively new features, let's be patient and hope it gets better overtime.
So for now i still prefer the steps counter in the appvault

I see the contacts icon. But tapping on the list item should give us more info

Xiaomi will drop "Beta" ROMs support for Mi 9, Mi 9T / K20 and Mi 9T Pro / K20 Pro devices nearly soon => Xiaomi wants you to buy a more recent device to get any new upcoming features...

Is this a fresh install?
Your device seems to be restoring contacts and call logs during this time.

So if it's all done, you shouldn't continue to see this battery consumption from the contact app

Mi 10 Lite Zoom, the rom cannot be used.
After wipe data , go back to 21.7.28

I've Mi 9 and the option to hide or allow notch in individual apps has disappeared, Please add it so games can be played in full screen
