Ive tried everything including clearing caches and dalves caches it just wont open! Any chance anybody could make a zip version so I could just install it through flash? Thanx in advance
step by step using root explorer
move miuiweather.apk to sdcard
open root explorer and navigate to /sdcard
long press on miuiweather.apk and hit COPY
navigate to /system/app
hit menu - PASTE (if it says you can't because its read only, hit the top right button mount r/w, then paste)
longpress on the miuiweather.apk in /system/app
select permissions
make checkboxes look like following: (where x indicates check, 0 indicates unchecked)
Read Write Execute
X ---- X ---- 0
X ---- 0 -----0
X ---- 0 ----0
(all three checkmarks in first column, first checkmark in second column)
IF your location is not working after the above steps, do the same thing with the db file, except instead of /system/app, navigate to /data/data/com.miui.weather/databases/ to paste it
and permissions should look like this
X ---- X ---- 0
X ---- X -----0
0 ---- 0 ----0
you SHOULDNT "install" anything, just move the files to the proper places with proper permissions, and reboot.
i will look into making a flashable zip for each apk if there are still a lot of people having issues

Seems like the EU apk doesn't work for everyone yet.go to mod forum, download my wallpaper scroll zip, rightclick on zip file, open with 7zip (if u dont have it get it), go to system/app folder in zip, drag miuiweather.apk into there (u will now see miuiweather.apk next to launcher2.apk) and delete launcher2.apk. then flash it
Thanks Mark for your work on this. I was able to push the app to system/app on my phone using EX File Explorer and loaded the widget no problem. I turned off GPS and added my city and works good. It took me while to figoure out "go to edit icon top left", but eventually I got it. All you do is tap on the city name and it will change it from Webster City to the one you have added. Thanks! Can't wait for GPS to get added!.

OK Im a lil lost. Ive draged miuiweather.apk to the system/app and deleted launcher2.apk. but what do I do next?? I pressed move but it didnt turn it into zip file!!?
I do not see a SPACE on your command between .apk and \system\app
"C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb push MIUIDev_Weather_EU_Beta.apk\system\app"
Could that be the problem?

Yeah I know I fixed that problem but now Ive run into another problem. Stiffspliff is trying to help me now.

WTF you deleting the Launcher2.apk for?! did anyone actually tell you to do this?!
Do this and it works!
1. Download the European APK to your PC or MAC!
2. Download the corresponding miui_city.db from the link under the European APK!
3. adb remount
4. adb push file.apk /system/app (replacing file.apk with the proper file name!)
5. Open the app, it will likely Force Close!
6. Now push miui_city.db to /data/data/com.miui.weather/databases/
7. Re open app!
done!

Mark I realised that too late. That comment was bourn out of pure frustration cos Ive been looking forward to this app for a long time and now its finally here this apk has turned into a major problem for me! I am grateful to everybody who has responded since then.

Yeah StiffSpliff told me to make a zip out of apk via 7zip. Anyways I did all of the above before. The only thing I didnt do was to adb push miui_city.db cos it was already there!! should I push it anyway???

Mark, is there any way to get it from the fahrenheit scale used by our friends over the pond to celsius?
EDIT: Just realised that when I add London it's in celsius, so it must be where the data about Stockholms weather is being pulled from that's pushing it in the imperial system... this may be a big challenge and a lot to ask but is there any way to make it pull the information in the metric system as I don't even know what it means when it says 36° without taking out my calculator and converting it

you didnt say this earlier. you said that you had pushed it yourself. delete the db file and push the correct one back

Sorry I didnt know that. Anyways I pushed the correct db back in but It still force closes! I am on the verge of giving up now
