MULTI Miui 8 Alpha

Hello everyone.
I'm new here and wanted to ask for your help (please) in the following : How can I update my Mi3w with Miui7 ( 5.12.11 ) to Miui 8? It is possible via MiRecovery or do i need to install any application?
Then the steps for update are similar as with MiRecovery?

Thanks a lot for your work, patience and help!

Its may be a bug with Bluetooth/security

I'm unable to find any device in trusted device

Its alpha! Its supposed to be bugs. "Please fix it" come on, you think they won't? Dont run it if you want stability. God.

Do you have the menu of battery just like that? Where is the performance mode? I have a Mi5 with 6.6.4.

Sometimes I think Alpha and beta should be kept on closed groups!
Too many users who are not really comprehend what's cooking and what they are using.

About 6.6.x - I didnt try it as I'm back to Miui7 last dev rom. Too many things I dont like in the new miui8 ... and new dialer is p****ng me off. Not to say that battery backup is worst than miui7.
With every incrementation .. MIUI is heading to copy all the design mistakes from IOS. But android users are not sheeps.. and have personality..and hardly swallow what apple designers throw at them.

I'll wait for the beta or first release... Devs will need at least 3-4 months to bring maturity to this rom.. old miui users know that.

Hi. I read this note on ROM 6.5.26 (miui 7):
  • Install TWRP zip via Updater app or Fastboot mode, then install our ROM
  • For root on Mi3/4/4c/4S/5/Redmi3/Note3Pro/MiNote/MiNotePRO install SuperSU in TWRP"
I've downloaded TWRP and SuperSU. How can i find the Updater app or Fastboot? It´s easy to install them?

*Gasp* You think this .eu rom with your mod will work on my Mi4 with Vodafone NL in order to get 4G??

I just checked the files you mentioned... looks like Vodafone is already there. So going to try the unmodded .eu rom. (Dying for 4G)

If you have 2 partitions you need merge them before TWRP and MM..

To solve this I manually overwrite SecurityCenter app with the one in MIUI7 6.5.26.
I used FX Explorer for that, but any root explorer would work. You can find te app in the ROM zip file. Just go to system->priv-app, copy the folder from rom zip and then go in your root->system->priv-app, mount read/write and paste it there to overwrite the app.

Ps: the 6.6.1 China Alpha does not have this issue, so I think it could be a porting error.

Agreed on the alpha versions. They shouldn't be available to the general public.

But why are Apple users sheep? And Apple design is a mistake? Really? Common! It's one of the most successful companies in the world.

About MIUI 8, I won't try it until it's beta. Too much going on with the alpha right now.

Unfortunately I have a bootloop now. But phone partition are merged though. I can not use pc suite (on mac) or usb for fastboot/adb via terminal (because usb connector seems faulty).
Trying to reflash smiui again via TRWP... *sigh*

please, can you look at the "clock" when you will prepare 6.6.7 for Mi5, because it FC after translation of 6.6.4. In inglish it`s working fine.
 
I swear to Shiva and the 7 dwarves! This thread should be locked just to avoid the demanding " please fix it" and "THIS IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY" it's a CLOSED ALPHA! If you don't know what that means then why the f do you install it??????????

I am request an only one thing and this is not a bug of original ROM. This is a bug of translation. I`m using all this firmwares and all good,but when i`m going to sleep i change language to english, then set an alarm, and then set again my language.

I guess only xiaomi.eu released miui8alpha dev. At least for now, so let other teams work on it and then we'll have better translations as usual for all language...keep calm
