Noobie question: can I dirty flash directly to miui 14, currently running on miui 12.5.19 or should I flash miui 13 then flash to 14?

You can update directly to MIUI 14. If it is an update from xiaomi.eu MIUI 12 to xiaomi.eu MIUI 14.
I recommend using the fastboot method.

I was not able to install it through TWRP, it gives an error and then it appears that there is no operating system, I had to stay with miui 13, I have not gambled to start it without OS

The no operating system error is a twrp related error. Reboot the system and the boot would be successful

The error is insignificant. You should have rebooted into the system even if it says "no operating system".
You can also update using fastboot method.

Doesn't it mean anything, my friend, that the name is stable? Weekly roms are beta roms. Even advanced, there are bugs. On the battery side, the stable rom is probably fine.
