Ok, I got lucky and managed to restore a stock rom (Joyeuse EU) using the Mi flashing tool.
I hope I can now install Magisk in full and next time install a non stock rom! :)
You can use fastboot to install the Xiaomi.eu stable ROM for Joyeuse. That's what I'm using at the mo. It's OK, but it fails SafetyNet.

hi . sorry. i have a question.
does your phone has automatic phone call recorder? and massaging and dialer apps are form xiaomi or google?
i have global rom that installed by default form factory. and i want to install eu roms.
please answer me.
thanks
The dialer and sms apps are the xiaomi ones, haven't tried the call recorder feature but it should work

Is there no more double-tap to lock phone?
On my RN7 with MIUI9 I can double-tap the home screen and it will lock the phone, which is very nice, because I don't have to use the mechanical button that will break one day (which it semi-did on my RN4X).
I just installed MIUI11 on a new RN9S and this functions seems to be gone.
Am I blind or is this really useful feature really gone?

Is your bootloader unlocked?
Yes, of course, otherwise you cannot flash this rom. But I was still using very old SafetyNet tester, the SafetyNet checker app says cts profile fail so I guess it isn't OK here anyway.

I also noticed that the fastboot ROM is gone. I also tried non-fastboot one with (rather broken) TWRP, this also doesn't boot.

I apologise for what would've looked like a dumb question, but couldn't understand how it was possible to have safety net pass with an unlocked bootloader.

You're probably aware that it appears to be Google's new hardware attestation that is causing safety net to fail, so I assumed you must've been still waiting for unlock.

Thanks for clarifying.

Function is unfortunately not present on this global/stable rom.
that's so sad, I liked it.

Damn it. I use this double-tap to lock phone literally dozens of times each day. Wtf would someone remove it.
Can .EU reimplement it?

EDIT: So when I update my RN7 to MIUI11 or 12 I will lose this feature, yes?

If you stay with default or classic theme, that's fine.
(tested on my spare MI9T weekly 20.7.30 rom.)
EDIT: double tap is working on RN9S 11.10 EU rom. Thanks to you I spent time to check it again.

Supposedly there is a bug when you give file explorers root rights with newer .EU roms where the phone basically won't work anymore and you have to reinstall new OS.
I'd be willing to test this and destroy my Android installation if it helps.

What the f**k is this. Why does the firmware on some devices come out in a day or two after the official release, but on redmi 8a after 5-6 days there is NOTHING. Please do something. All the best

Check here, it is reported to be something new.
Test it if you want.

Forgot to take your pills today? You'll get the ROM whenever we upload it, this has nothing to do with what device you have, so chill with those conspiracy theories.
