It works well for me, maybe it could be the wallpaper you are using. Have you tried restarting the device?

tried different dynamic wallpapers. also yes reboot. but it just wont work. i read also in this thread and others and its not just me.

If TWRP decrypts data or you have USB-OTG cable, then sure.

If by decrypt you mean the first screen for decryption than yes, after my pattern it decrypts and starts TWRP.
