My device is subjected to corporate policies (mdm intune) that require me to use 5 characters for a password/pin. Pin being the easiest (keyboard size mainly) id like that one only miui does not allow more than 4 digits although the message suggest otherwise (see screenshots). Miui.en has some topics since version old but never addressed the issue (the moderators only can reply with "4 is enough for a consumer"-bulls...

Can eu fix this? I think lots of corporate users will switch to eu when you can....

Can you add contact widget on homescreen? I can not, but do not know why . I wiped cache and dalvik, reinstalled rom, cleared data of louncher and themes, but nothing helps.

In Mi Note 2:

Double Sim does not work (standby) only picks up one data and even if you change it to 2 it does not get data, (Calls if they work with both SIMs).

In Watshapp or Telegram, you can not customize the sound (if you change it does not sound), you can only change it by sounds that have the default mobile.

Hey! Just received a MI5 from my brother.
It has an old ROM. Miui 8 with Android 6.
My question is... Should i update as is told in here or I just install it as a new ROM, wiping data, cache, system and all of that?

Read first post. Never, never, NEVER do system wipe or you will brick your phone. Only upgrade from latest MIUI8 with Android 6 to newer Android 7 based

Last day I had a redmi note 3 from a friend, it had 1.8gb free ram and never went down so quickly like mi5s.
A wiped Miui9 system has just 1.2gb free ram! After few apps installed, all recents closed, remains 1gb ram. And after reaching 700mb free ram lags like crazy, cleaning recents frees inky 750mb, opening just chrome it freezes or becomes extremely slow.
Why they don't use all the ram???

Why are you so worried about RAM usage? I have a Mi5 with 3GB and no problem at all. Android is Linux based and some memory (or all not used memory) is dedicated to RAM cache. This cache is not freed when you press clean memory. It's used by apps if needed.
I don't have any lag problem with any MIUI8 I've tested... 7, 8 and 9.

Perhaps you should check your installed apps and CPU usage instead of RAM memory
