Smart Assistant is not working properly. WhatsApp icon stays constantly at 1 even though there are 3 messages!

WhatsApp sound notifications are only one, even though three messages have been received!

The file manager is not working correctly. There are no files displayed even though they are present!

Please Fix it!

WhatsApp had a widespread outage this morning, Italy and Germany outages were reported in this thread, before your post. Outage also affected Spain. Another poster reported it as Global outage.

When I install a stable ROM from here, should the subsequent update come as an OTA or do I have to manually install the update using TWRP? I have installed the 8.5.4(NCJCNED) update for my Mi5C and now I can see the 8.5.5. file here but have not received an OTA update yet.

Read the first page, OTA is released Friday night, European time, whereas the downloads are available from Friday AM, or thereabouts.
