I got it that it's not necessary a full wipe with this update, but when is it necessary to do a wipe? Not full, but also only cache for example.

ottimo lavoro...
appena installata sul redmi note 2 prime e sembra funzionare tutto perfettamente.
risolto la mancata traduzione della galleria.
l'unica cosa che non ho capito è che nelle impostazioni della rubrica alla prima posizione c'è "top-up package"... e non so cosa sia... c'era anche nella precedente rom.

Serve per le chiamate tipo skype ma va solo in cina......anche io ho il prime con la 6.3.17.... Come ti va???? A me per ora bene e tutto totalmente tradotto

In fastboot mode have you tried:
fastboot flash recovery twrpfilecorrect.img


or

fastboot boot twrpfilecorrect.img

Hi Thank you for answering. Yes i did it will install (it says it does) but i simply cannot install any update without getting a bootloop. I really dont know what to try any further.

As far as i know i have to install it on my recovery partition right?

As far as i know i have to install it on my recovery partition right?

then you need to reboot on your twrp recovery and first try with wipe data/cache

Have tried it without succes unfortunately the damn thing wont boot. grrrr i dont know any sollution

The funny thing is that the multilanguage release from 18.2 just works everything after that will simply not boot, really strange

Please confirm it boots on recovery.
If it does not you need to flash via miflash a fastboot rom.
In case it boots you can use adb sideload to copy the rom zip file to your phone them boot into recovery and install the zip.

So you need to reflash twrp from fastboot then boot only via recovery and check to disable modifications. In your previous attempt I think Xiaomi recovery is installed back as twrp is not locked.
Via adb sideload copy the rom to your phone
Reboot to twrp and from it install the zip.

I am asking Xiaomi to add double tap to wake to the Redmi Note 2.
They have already added it to the Mi4i and the Redmi Note 2 needs it even more as its a larger device.

Plus the MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) chipset fully supports double tap to wake...

There is no reason for Xiaomi to not incorporate this feature into their future stable and developer ROM's.

But you arent important enough. The dont Watch comments here. And i think mi4i has more sold devices and thats why they dont install it.
