Thats helped in fixing the gmail issue, got it from another forum, might help someone

1. go to setting>additional settings>privacy>device administrators and check android device manager
2. uncheck android device manager
3. go to app and uninstall update google play service
4. open gmail app which requires you to update google play service. click update
5. after update, open gmail app to verify the error is gone
6. back to setting>additional settings>privacy>device administrators and check android device manager

I would also like to know about this. I am using 6.1.14 version on RN2 and it works good, so i am thinking if i should update or not. If there is someone who tested and used the new ROM please let us know.

100% agree, but i would like to add

4) whatsapp bug which doesn't allow to choose pic from gallery as profile pic.
5) Whatsapp buildin scanner which used to connect to whatsapp web cant read the code although the regular scanner of the phone can
6) regarding the battery drain, i am using the phone exactly as i used to use it before the update, i never got bluetooth draining battery or media server.


in general better smoothness is required, and i believe there is something wrong in permissions need to be fixed which causing the battery and whatsapp problems

Friend, I was only talking about big problems, a new ROM has a lot of little problems like the one that you told about whatsapp, for example Xiaomi won't listen the request of many users about give us back the "aggressive" launcher (so is called by nova launcher), I mean the launcher that stay resident in the ram, to avoid that often, when we push the home button, we have to wait some seconds because the launcher is charging.

I hope in improvements also in the camera app and for the boot time, but generally almost every part of the rom need improvements, and we will wait patiently for it, but not the battery drain and the overheat, it's a real torture to use the phone in these conditions.

Also had a bad surprise (one more, after the miss of the root permissions) when moved to this ROM, it is incompatible with Mi PC Suite, so I can't restore the backup that I made before to flash this ROM (also can't restore the apps with titanium backup thanks to the miss of the root permissions), for my luck (or better I always make a lot of kind of backups, in case of...) I also saved a local backup on the phone, and this was the only one that I can use with the new ROM, it restored me all the apps (almost all), contacts, some accounts (but not email accounts), and almost the complete layout of the home screen (miss the widgets of the non-system apps), but to rescue my picts I have to wait that someone will release a new version of Mi PC Suite, compatible with this ROM.

When I updated the rom from 6.1.14 to 6.1.21 in mi MI4C google calendar sync stopped with sync error. I have to re-install the app. I noticed an elevated battery drain from "Android system" and "Android Operative system" compared to last rom.
