REDMI NOTE 2 (hermes) update nefunguje, vypisuje, ze corrupted zip file. Je to jedno z ktoreho uloziska stahujem, obidva subory su rovnake, aj MD5 je rovnake, napriek tomu update nie je mozny.

Yes how stupid of me.. And very well spotted by you. I was hoping to reinstall it after boot to restore proper icon...

Have copied Updater to system/app using twrp file manager and chmod 755 but still get the problem.

Sounds as if you might know the solution?

(Else I will have to copy my sdcard as backup to computer via twrp USB storage and then start again. Though I might screw up a lot of rwx permissions. I suspect Nandroid backup does not include all the user data. (First time with custom recovery).

Hmm, odd... I'd assume restoring Updater.apk would fix it. You could try chmod 644 on it, not sure if it will help but those are the original permissions.

Did you by any chance remove or change other system files too?

I don't think so. Didn't realise 644 were original permissions, I assumed they had changed when I extracted from rom zip. On this redmi note2 its 755 but I think you must be correct.

Am using moborobo to export my sdcard to pc. Will try copying Updater back again afterwards later today. Seems very slow to export sdcard!

The option to turn on the flash from lockscreen (pressing home) is confusing. Its been this way since v6, but i just had to ask since i use it a lot. If i let go of the home button, the flash switches off. If I hold the home button longer and let go, the flash stays on for a while, but switches off after a while. This duration appears to be random. Is there any logic to this or any way to keep the flash on? (I know this is a minor issue)

I also really miss the double-tap on lockscreen to bring up the music player. I can enable it from lockscreen by sliding down for the menu and then to the right and press play, but thats much more hassle than double tap. Any way to enable this besides loading v6_extended? (you miss some functionality with that theme)

Mine isn't like that - it's the power key that I have to press to confirm flash light on.
(after using home button to turn it on, in the screen it's written to "press power button to keep flash light on")

Always has been like that to me.

Hello everyone!

I read a lot of comments and I get the feeling this 5.9.24 update has a lot of bugs in it. Can anyone just assure me and tell me if it's all good to install on my Redmi Note 2?

PS. In the updater is still says that there is no update, is that possible? Used it before and it all went okay

OTA updates are only available some days after release here.

From my experience reading these topics since April, most of the so called bugs or problems are isolated cases, caused by conflicts with some existing app, or by wrong actions done by the user (examples just above - extracting and deleting stuff from the rom, etc).

When a real bug exists, you'll see several people with the same device complaining of it, in very little time.

What I explain that since the latter was ota I had installed and not installed anything since ... that is unchanged ...

Oh sh*t, Xposed ceased to work with this ROM!
Is it permanent?
I wish I knew this before updating :(
