I just wanted to prepare for next weekly coming... I always backup data, super and boot with TWRP before. This time, I am running in exactly this error: https://github.com/mauronofrio/android_device_xiaomi_ginkgo/issues/2
It's not ginkgo, but lmi (Poco F2 Pro) in my case, it's not mauronofrio TWRP, but Chinese 1206 version which comes with xiaomi.eu, but it's exactly the error mentioned above.

I have never experienced that before! With last week's build, everything has still been okay regarding backup. The trouble has begun with this week's build. Anybody experiencing the same problem and any idea how to solve this?
Check this out, already reported and maybe even solved:

Encryption mode of my device is ice:aes-256-heh. The file backup brakes down with is the same: /data/extm (but hashcode behind is different). Can not imagine that the reason is TWRP, because I have been using same version of it for weeks and no problems with it before this build.

May I ask if it happened after activating "second space"? Because that happened to me running MIUI 11 after activating that feature and I still wonder if it's coincident...
Unfortunately you have to delete the folder /data/extm every time before doing the backup :(
EDIT: Answered while typing...

Found a hint at least in a german forum. I'm not rooted and need the phone now, so I can't look inside TWRP, but ther should be:
/system/init.miui.rc

Code:
on post-fs-data
    mkdir /data/mqsas 0775 system system
    mkdir /data/system/miuilog 0775 system system
    # Setup /data/extm as per_boot directory
    exec - system system -- /bin/rm -rf /data/extm
    mkdir /data/extm 2770 root system
    restorecon_recursive /data/extm
    start system_perf_init
maybe some Dev has got an idea now....

Mi 9T Pro, I cannot save screenshots on first try, it takes if i try it again. There is no startup or any battery options for screenshot system app.

Same here. After clearing cache of the system-app that is responsible for screenshots it worked for a while. Did you try with 3-fingers or with power and volume buttons? Sometimes the one works and the other not and the other way around.

I know this problem! Had this with miui11, after activating "second space". I think /data/extm is somehow "double encrypted" and therefore unreadable for TAR.

Solution was to delete the /data/extm folder with TWRP file manager (or terminal) each time BEFORE doing the backup. After that the backup process always ran through. The folder is created newly at boot anyways.
Well, happened to me too... I'd like to ask before proceeding, what does this file do? I have a 3rd party app to douplicate apps. Will deleting cause any problems?
Btw, it seems to be empth for me:

Btw, can it be related at all with magisk being now flashable as an apk? You can clone it (as before) amd get root access in the work profile, maybe the new versions cause a problem or something.

You have to flash official miui rom first and you'll not have problems ..
This can be happened if you come from AOSP , you need mi flash and official rom , then you can use EU rom without issues ..
MiFlash gives me antirollback error (I don't know why)

After flashing an official stable ROM I still can't update to the xiaomi.eu beta.

Now I can not return the AOSP ROM that I had installed

Best regards and thanks

Still the issue with /data/extm? No I don't think so - I have never rooted my phone! Have you checked out /system/init.miui.rc ?

anyone else having trouble with the google photos app? As soon as I open it, the photo app closes.

Since first 12.5 beta release, i cant add a fingerprint on my Mi 9... Everytime i tried, i've got a message to "try again later"... does anyone have the same issue??
Last time, i tried to rub my finger on my pants, and it worked for 1 fingerprint... Ofc i clean my lcd and wash my hands quite offen haha

Oh well, I just deleted the empty folder and managed to backup my phone. Tnx!
I do find it a little worrying that this folder is now being created. Again the folder has appeared. Last week, there were some 999 accounts on my system - I had not put them there (to the best of my knowledge). Is there an app that is creating accounts (conspiracy theory?).

Flashed , and all perfect at the moment.

Thanks a lot Xiaomi.eu for the fast great uploaded weekly Rom.
