Just to check that, currently I am using 20.9.24 version (mi10 pro), how should I proceed to install the latest version ? Can I just boot into twrp and flash the latest version, or I need to flash the new recovery first?

Did you try from check for updates from phone settings, or you download from site? First I down and had problems like you. Than check update, and installation was good. So far so good. It is fluid on mi 9t.

Redmi Note 8 update:

• Installed fine from Soundforge and running well
• Clipboard access notificationscan be turned off from the Privacy settings. Thanks @Igor Eisberg
• The security patch has been updated to November
• The weather app is updated
• There is no horizontal arrangement for Recents on this device as far as I can see
• No other changes I think. Pretty sure Xiaomi is not doing anything particular for that device
