Arabic and Persian RTL Fix - 30-10-2011 HUGE UPDATE!!

Fix is excellent but still missing something..

Thanks so much roenano for the efforts done, time spent and for the script provided ..

I see the fix is excellent but still missing something..

Arabic is Working perfectly with:
Contacts
Messages
SIM ToolKit
Gmail (Conversation List Only - i.e. before opening the email)
... and for others as well
But not working properly with:
Gmail (Email Content - i.e. after opening the email)
Supplied Browser
Supplied Email Application
Google Maps

I've taken screen shots for all mentioned above applications,

I hope you can find a solution for the same, or if you have any advice regarding how to overcome such issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Glad it worked, I will add an option to the script to choose between different devices, so the zip will be adapted to each device.

There's nothing I can do without MIUI's source code. Those things depend on a library file called libwebcore.so, and this type of file can't be decompiled.
As a workaround you can use a RTL supported browser and try email apps like "k9" (I don't know if it works).

Dear roenano,

Workarounds so far :

Browser Arabic Issue : Opera is working fine instead
Email and Gmail Issues: K9 Email client is also having the same issue (Screenshot attached)
Google Maps Arabic Issue : no sol so far

Even though, I've tried many libwebcore.so files from different ROMs running Arabic properly but with no luck so far.

Workaround for Gmail:
enter your RTL supported browser and go to gmail.com, sign in and mark to stay signed in. Create a bookmark and even a shortcut to desktop.
Now every time you get a notification from gmail app, ignore it and go to your new shortcut.
It's not the best solution but it works

How Are You? I hope U R good.
I have Libwebcore.so, I use it to fix Arabic in ColorDict.apk bcuz i use it a lot.
But with browsers ( except US browser, Opera ), Gmail, Email, And Facebook, They just open and close immediately ( But No Force close ) :confused::confused: ( Note \ before they close, I see that Arabic is fixed )

Q: Is it possible to know what causes them to close So we can "U know" have Arabic Support in the apps mentioned before ?????:confused:

I can check it, but I don't speak Arabic or Persian so it'll be a bit hard for me to test it.
I will give it a try but it'll be much better if any of you could upload a logcat of the crash.

BTW, where did you take it from?

I tested it on 1.7.1 and , It's working

Thanks to NMH14 That found a libwebcore.so that works with MIUI I'm very glad to say 99.9% of RTL problems have been fixed.
Just updated the OP with a flashable zip containing the file and posted an updated version of the script including it.
So starting from this Friday you'll be able to autopatch MIUI with a prefect result!!!!

hi.i and my freinds need to a .zip flashable for fix arabic and gmail in miui 2.3.4a for hd2 ,please help me.so i flash rtl fix for 1.7.1 on this but after reseting ,i have fc for launcher and with flash the .zip in post 1 to this i have just fix in browser bbut no in sms.

I get back to 1.6.17 with it Arabic batch + the new browser fix
We are waiting for a complete arabic fix for 2.3.4a

Thank you so much for your hard work, it all works sooo perfect, its amazing.

The only thing is when i apply the Nokia7Linux patch, its takes certain urdu characters away, any idea on how to fix this please.
