Weird. I'm currently on that rom and have no issues now. I can switch between different resolutions on the YouTube app no problem. Keep in mind the ROM I'm talking about isn't the official China weekly ROM, but a custom one whose developers fixed the issue on their own!

I use not official , Xiaomi.eu ROM MIUI 8.5.4.0 , because future updates had this issue, 8.5.4 has not this issue, so you use Xiaomi.eu or another custom rom?

I'm not on Xiaomi.eu right now, no. I'm on a different custom ROM based on the latest weekly with the video bugs fixed among other things.

ahh... ok, i tried ******** ROM too and had same issue. i'll wait for Xiaomi.eu ROM to fixed this problem. thank you for answering.

Its not true. This rom is base on xiaomi.eu and have same issues, 2 notifications, desapire notifications, ussd code dont work, lose 4G internet, only when we install from zip a fix not zooming video. We can do same on Xiaomi.eu and China too...

Yeah I'm talking about the video zoom thing specifically. Can confirm that's fixed right now on the ROM. Everything else is pretty much untouched and all other bugs are still there of course.

Read my up post with link, download file zip. Paste to phone. Run twrp. Install this zip and reboot to system. Works on Xiaomi.eu too.

well, so much for installing a whole new ROM lol. I just flashed xiaomi.eu again + the zip zeork shared and it's working flawlessly so far. thanks for sharing! it's such a relief to be able to be back on .eu

I've look at the download page for all phones here on xiaomi.eu in stable folder and it seems that this version isn't there anymore. The link to it on the first post of this thread still works though.
