Hi,
When people here say that Gpay works on 9.8.1 (Pie), which it also states in release notes, is that after the needed "tweaks"?
I'm on 9.8.1 and GPay did not work right away, had to download SQL editor, do database changes and also modifying change rights, all according to an article on xdaDev.
Hide Gpay with Magisk did not help.
Is it actually working for some people without any changes?
If the changes are needed for everybody, I don't think the release notes should say that Gpay works.

So, I managed to make Dolby Digital Plus work in Android Q, if anyone is interested in knowing how, please like this post, then I'll know if I make a separated post in the Modding section.

If you enter the settings from some pages before (also on XDA) with Premiumsim it works perfectly (need to add in line MVNO "IMSI" then it works!!...as descripted)

I was using Pie ROM on Mi 9 and GPAY worked with no problem. I didn't anything for it. It work automatically. Now I'm using Android Q and I haven't tried it yet.

I had some time yesterday and I reinstalled the latest ROM to see if I can fix android.process.media FC. I can now confirm that enabling security app in the work profile fixed it. I am not sure how you are managing your work profile (I use app called Shelter) but for me it was very easy to make sure that security app is enabled and running in work profile and no more android.process.media FCs!
I guess something Xiaomi changed something in the latest update because until now I had security app disabled in the work profile. I hope that this helps.
NFC payments and Google pay wasn't working for me initially. I had to wipe clean and set the phone as new. Now it works like a charm.
Mi9 Q 9.8.8 is a lovely ROM. I have really good battery life and almost no bugs.

Not sure how you enabled it... In my work profile (mobile iron) it is not even listed in the bagged apps

On Max3 is possible to use the "Encrypt phone" option at Privacy settings to encrypt the phone (/data and internal storage) or the option isn't working?

The Rom is great, but on my MI9 the banking app says that my phone is rooted and that is not true, this is a deal breaker for me. so i go back to 9.8.1
Is this ROM really effective? With same apps installed AnTuTu ranking of my MI9 came down from place no1 to place no7 and although I followed all advices Google Pay does not work and some other apps like eWeLink are closed all the time.
Don't know about mobile iron. In my app (shelter) security app was in the work profile but was disabled. I just had to enable it.
I would not care too much about antutu scores... The most important is the feeling !

mi5, for some reason the camera app that gets called from lock screen sometimes crashes. This goes the same for flashlight being turned via right button on locked screen (it turns itself off). I've rebooted the phone and it looks like working OK. Weird. May happen again, I guess?
Also, looks like xiaomi deleted the ability to use quick snap to record videos by pressing vol- on turned off screen. Only photos left. Can something be done with it?

I started searching for some other (with at least Oreo) custom ROM however, let's give a chance to MiUi - I'm hope there will be an update this week.
