That's why you should read release notes before flashing. There was already mentioned that depending on rom version from which you upgrade, you may have to do factory reset, because of compatibility issue. Anyway it is not a bug.

The release notes didn't mention this though. They advise creating a backup for the Mi6 and the Mix2, not the Mi5. Anyway, I've done a factory reset and restored my phone from Mi Cloud. Takes a while, but so be it.

Updated my Mi5 from 8.4.12 To 8.5.10 following Cobben procedure:
- backup /data in twrp
- updated to 8.5.10 , reboot - > bootloop to twrp
- restore /data in twrp
- reboot and working
Phone seems very reactive with this build; no problems so far, no data lost

I'm getting so annoyed by ROMs that f**k up my phone and forces me to reconfigure every damn app because I had to full wipe my phone.. is it to much to ask to release a rom that works?
