7.10.13 will be the next update so wait for friday. Two weeks ago that the rom is not updated, something happens? In this last I miss the calculator which I use a lot .
Factory reset in twrp will only wipe data, dalvik and cache. It will not delete the files in SD-card.For better understand of what I'm probably doing:
if I'm doing a backup of System, Data and Boot, followed by a factory reset. Will restoring the backup make the factory reset fully undone?
Does a factory reset has an impact on anything else than these 3 partitions? I guess the SD Card is not touched at all?
You're definitely right.Backup System and Boot will be needed in case of you gona make experiment with your rom to restore)))For better understand of what I'm probably doing:

Do not be confused the version number is 7.10.12 (as version number of weekly releases usually named based on Thursday's dates), but ofc it will be released on 7.10.13 Friday as usual...
As mentioned a few posts ago I was about to try this out and I did so by now. I wiped data and started clean, but as Titanium Backup proved to be yet another crapware I was forced to restore my Backup. TB kept crashing everytime I tried to restore an app - even though the system was factory reset clean.Karm Telghi said:Try to flash china stable, fastboot rom first then flash the eu rom. Select flash all.
The point here is to eliminate conflicts and redundancies, you can use titanium back up to backup your apps, msgs, wifi access points and messages. As for the system settings, you should do those manually from scratch.
about backup by TWRP wrote here more times because inner MIUI 9 backup restore your data not enough! As mentioned a few posts ago I was about to try this out and I did so by now. I set up all needed settings accordingly (Unknown Sources, USB Debugging, SuperSU Namespace etc.) but nothing helped. I then took a quick view into AppMonster, which I read was similar to Titanium Backup, but as it's useless in its free mode I had to throw of that idea too.
I made a twrp-backup of my factory reset rom and I'm willing to retry it once I found an actually well working solution for backing up apps and their data.
Why don't xiaomi.eu put that tweak in our kenzo Roms? I believe all Kenzo users would be delighted to Xiaomi.eu developers...I'm using Kenzo for more than 1 year now, and have been using xiaomi.eu dev rom since late Dec 2016, flashed weekly dev rom as they became available, no problem so far, never had to downgrade (well, i flashed 7.6.21 to 7.9.14 because the gps was not working in my house, but it turned out i need to be outside for the gps to work, so i flashed back to 7.9.21 and still using it).
Battery's time is good, usually 10 hour SOT on wifi without mobile data, with 3G mobile data SOT is about 8 hours, no game though, just browsing, email, chat..
One thing i really like to see is Miui 9 on Android 7, but it seems that this is not going to happens..
Sure i can flash other rom like Lineage os 14.x, but i prefer MIUI for the customizations, i said this based on my experience using lineage os 14,1 on my Samsung tablet note 8 (2012)..
In summary, so far i'm satisfied with my Kenzo using xiaomi.eu dev rom, everything is good..
i'm not using custom kernel or some heavy mods, the only tweak i use is the missing 4g fix + camera feats (http://en.miui.com/thread-472731-1-1.html)..
and i never clean flashed the roms, always dirty flash : download rom, boot to twrp, flash rom, flash that tweak above, clear dalvik/cache and reboot)
I asked some moderators on en.miui and they told me that we get finally MIUI 9 on firday for Redmi Pro. But I'm sceptical..Hopefully friday with HMPRO supported, redmi pro (simcard problem solved?)
Thanks for all your efforts!!!
its new feature of MIUI9When I upgraded to MUI 9 - 7.9.21 on my Redmi Note 3 (kenzo), on the home page the bottom 4 apps's do not show the text of the app's under the Icon.
Is this a bug or is it supposed to be that way?
Do you always wipe dalvic&cache after your installation? Only way I can figure out your gapps failing is that you dont wipe after installing new 7.9.21, but boot to system without wiping. Remember dalvic and cache doesnt wipe your messages etc. What did I just told you ("you" as in you as a part of the community) in Post #1061?
Stop telling people to wipe their data all the time. It can't be the universal solution to all problems on earth.
Also, only me posting about that issue does not mean that issue is unique.
//Edit: Okay, I'm upset again. I just patched to 7.9.21 and it's included gapps did - as expected - overwrite my opengapps. And of course my former problem is back too.
To sumarize:
- xiaomi.eu's included gapps do not work
- said to be incompatible opengapps work fine
Is there any way to fix the included gapps without wiping data?
Wait for friday. Next will be 7.10.13
