IMO, if you use your device for your job you shouldn't use weekly. Or at least be prepared to restore a nandroid backup of a working version using TWRP.

I use Stable. As I use the phone also for working, MIUI version and new features are not as important as not having to deal with new and unexpected bugs.

Did you try updater method and then TWRP with the same file (I mean the same download, not the same file downloaded twice)? If so, try downloading it again and flash it with TWRP.

Not yet. And I suggest to get the MIUI8 Stable and then move to MIUI9 Stable when available. It seems that there are too many bugs in MIUI9 dev.

As far as I can remember you can unlock one device every 30 days. Never heard about IP blocking. Maybe you should ask on the official forum.

Portable hotspot is working again, it was broken on 8.5.3.0. Also the translation problem causing crash entering Developer options is solved. About fingerprint...for me that sensor works the same (and well) since the first ROM I tried (8.0.10.0). IMO it is just suggestion+practice on using it.

I did that soon after flashing. Maybe it's a translation bug...what language are you using? For me it's crashing with my native language (Italian) and English US as well. Can you try setting the language to English US? Thanks

Just upgraded to 8.5.4.0 from 8.5.3.0 I've noticed that enabling Settings->Personal hotspot->Portable hotspot is causing Settings to crash. Anyone else?

I really hope for a release, to hopefully fix some problems with missing translation causing faults (e.g. entering Developer options)

RN should get MIUI 9. They didn't dropped update for RN2, they dropped RN2: just 3 months after its launch they launched RN3 with 4100mAh battery.
