Battery Doesn't Last A Day Anymore

Hi, I've had my MI5s for about a year, and for most of that time, have been really impressed with the battery life. However, recently, the battery life has plummeted, and needs charging before the end of the day.

Can anyone recommend the best course of action to restore the battery life, that ideally doesn't involve a factory reset (which takes about day to set back up).

Which ROM are you using?
Did you install new apps recently or did you make changes to configurations? That's could be the cause.

Hi, not sure what you mean about ROM. I'm using MIUI 8. I'll try removing a couple of recently installed apps, to see whether that helps.

Funny enough...my started draining also 2 days ago....out of nowhere. Just standard global Rom....also uninstalled all apps that updated in the last week, which made no difference.
Wonder if more people experience this problem

Someone proposed the app "Force Doze" to me and it seems to help a lot without loss of functions anywhere. Does need root access though.

Funny enough...my started draining also 2 days ago....out of nowhere. Just standard global Rom....also uninstalled all apps that updated in the last week, which made no difference.

Weird. Mine also at times, comes up with a connect charger notification, before almost instantaneously turning itself off, despite the battery showing as having 40% charge.

It's happened pretty suddenly, after about a year of use, and a year of me being impressed at how good a phone it is.

I might have to try a factory reset.

Just an update, i ran a couple of battery repair apps, and it 'repaired' a few segments, and it was looking promising today, with 50% about an hour ago. I had my phone outside (in the cold, but not that cold) for a few minutes, and it instantly died. Back inside now, and it's fine.

Yes, mi5s battery is not cold-proof, my phone is dying after 30 minutes with outside temperature -5 C when it is not in the inner pocket of my coat. I also have mi3 phone - it is sustaining cold much longer.

I am using the latest Miui 9 global 7.12.21 beta and the battery does not last for more than 18 hours. It used to last 2 whole days. The problem started after the last two Rom updates. I realised that Android System battery use is 51%. Is this normal?

I am using the latest Miui 9 global 7.12.21 beta and the battery does not last for more than 18 hours. It used to last 2 whole days. The problem started after the last two Rom updates. I realised that Android System battery use is 51%. Is this normal?

I actually did a factory reset and it works like before about 2days. The Android system battery consumption is now only 10-15%.
