I have tried the complete mod and is definitely not recommended on the 1.9.30 version !! HAd no statusbar and hotseat icons on top of the screen ...

I'm a huge fan of this mod as well enough that I most likely stick to 9.23 till andy has time to spare and updates. If u too are a fan u would know andy said he will not be updating for a few weeks. Now if someone else can make this mod great ! But other than that don't expect andy to come in here n update , he has a life outside this mod.

I managed to get it to work (apparently it does change some important files in the rom, so it may be worth waiting for the next release)

I didn't use the most recent one, so try the one before.

I'd guess you extract the apk and replace the corresponding png files then push the modified apk into /system/app and you may or may not have to reboot.

To be fair, it's been mentioned in quite a few posts previous to yours that Andy is offline till this coming Thursday, so on that basis there won't be any updates till then at the earliest.

only the statusbar layout and the color of the battery topbar dont work

There are no corresponding png files in com.android.systemui (systemUI.apk), because andy make them for his apk. If he eventually do that, he must repeat this after every update, so it's easier to make miui.control.panel file in theme and place png files there
