Hi MIUIers,

Welcome back to my thorough review of this week Xiaomi.EU beta ROM! Please report and confirmed if you encountered same issues too. Now let's get started!

WHAT'S NEW
1. Updated control center design for landscape.
Change the arrangements of shortcuts in control center.

2. Upgraded Find device service.
Added option to report location when battery is low and before powering off.

3. Added option to view apps turning on bluetooth.
Any apps that activate bluetooth will appear here.

NEW BUGS
1. [Old issue] High battery consumption during standby.
Difficulty of device to go deep sleep possibly cause from android.system.suspend@1.0-service.

2. [Old issue] Slow and laggy control center performance*.
When device just rebooted, unlocked or after using heavy performance apps,
the control center will lag especially when it is opening.
*As I remembered, first two or three MIUI 12 beta have good control center performance.


BUGS FIXED
1. Same as listed down on official changelog.


REMAINING BUGS
1. Picture in Picture (PiP) broke.
Youtube and other apps that support PiP can't be activated properly in small PiP window (When using full screen gestures).

2. Black screen on video panel when minimizing app to floating window.
Steps to reproduce: Play Youtube video, swipe up to float the app, and black screen will emerge.

3. Floating notification missing shadow underneath it.


Two weeks left :') Hoping the beta will end with bug fixes and performance improvement before Xiaomi says goodbye to
this 2 years 4 months of beta software update.

Since last update (OK Google) stopped working and I couldn't find a way to make it work.

Do you have the same bug or it only in my mi8?

On my Mi 9, only GMS is displayed in the advanced BT settings.

It's doesn't show anything on my Mi 9 SE. Event though I have a few apps that use Bluetooth.

It's not "use" of Bluetooth. Its activating Bluetooth
Example:
MiShare activates Bluetooth so send files.
If you use MiShare, you will see at that list.

I don't know if it's the same issue but in other threads I understand that it will work with YouTube vanced.

I use this thread to give a little update on the current beta (20.08.27).

The battery consumption is much better with simple kernel (at least for me).
With this kernel android.system.suspend@1.0-service no longer appears in the battery consumption monitor.
pip Is still broken. But only with full screen gesture (pip works with button navigation)

OK Google hotword doesn't work for me either. but could be due to the kernel.

Overall I am happy with the new update and the change of the kernel.
