16 GB = 2x Navigation maps for Europe + 3x High res games = nothingyeah... im still deciding whether i should get one or not now.. the sd card thing is a big deal actually but on other hand theres the OTG cable which xiaomi 1 will prob never get due to hardware limitations.. it shouldnt be a big issue thou, i mean i am using 16 gb and i ll prob never buy a bigger one as long as i have this one.
but the thing is, its good to have the option to remove or upgrade even if you never intend to.
Shame.Yep, there isn't the release date yet. There aren't any xiaomi stores. Just forget it.
Shame.
Well surely they'll have some retail presence at least through a local telecom at some point.
Sticking with my HD2 for the foreseeable time then.
No microSD is a big turnoff, as I have a bunch of 32gb ones already.
Only the bands listed are supported. Since it is hardware dependent it can't simply be 'switched on'A new question.
Will it be possible to activate the WCDMA 900Mhaz band (it only has the 850/1700/2100 right now) ?
thanks
No chance for that. Doubt they would deliver to a Hotel as well.... especially in that small time frame! additionally the sale of the mi2 retail is set for the end of October.Hi!
I have a relative visiting Bejing this month, 19-21. Hotel is on Beiheyan Street.
Could you please point me to the nearest shop that has/will have the MI2 available.
I'm afraid of fakes, as I heard they already have bad clones out there.
If they're not selling them yet at retail outlets, is there a way to order the Mi2 so it would be delivered to the hotel at that date?
Thanks!
....
Reading this thread a bit more, it seems it's not gonna be on sale yet is that confirmed?
Just got an email from my reseller, that the Mi-2 will apperar in China not on the 15th or 18th but at the end of october. Is that true?
well, i ve been living in china for 5 weeks now, and i'm desperately trying to buy a xiaomi.
after endless time of researching, looking in shops and talking to locals, let me tell you:
there's basically no way to buy a xiaomi just like that!!
- it's not sold through the electronic retailers that u can find on any corner (who sell samsung, htc etc.)
- u won't find it at china telecom or china unicom (and if so, its probably locked to the carrier)
- the only way to order is online at the xiaomi website (it has not launched yet), and even this is highly complicated. the website is in chinese only. once the phone launches, it will be sold in small amounts so that you have a five minute window in which it is available before being sold out.
after realizing this, i asked around why they have such a stupid sales strategy. the answer from my local chinese co-workers: xiaomi tries everything (!) they can to stay absolutely exclusive (google it, they even make loss on some of their phones despite being able to take over the whole market).
as for me, i'm terribly disappointed not being able to buy a phone despite being in china for the next 2 months, but that seems to be the case. if anyone else in this forum has any advice for me, please let me know!!!
Yesby the way... is xiaomi m2 able to use silent camera ? i mean no shuttle sound and such?
