disable magisk modules is always a good idea, sometimes some modules are not compatible with newer firmware.

yes .... as example with fastboot: windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat if you use TWRP... remember: Wipe is different from format in TWRP - you have to format :)

the steps are the same for a fastboot rom. and the bootloader must be unlocked if you want to use a custom rom like xiaomi.eu

no ... it is a fastboot rom not a recovery rom -> you have to flash it with fastboot https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/howto-install-fastboot-image.64508/ -> gogocar was faster :)
