You do what you want, your the boss, but it is a big mistake to buy a phone seller unlocked.
You will be falling in deep issue in case you are forced to unlock the bootloader twice.

i dont understand , especially this - "You will be falling in deep issue in case you are forced to unlock the bootloader twice" ...i think its a great deal to get unlocked phone with a rom already...

Ask Gymnasium! He had so many XIAOMI model and the skilled experience to flash them.

You might read this post:
And ask yourself what is wrong in my advice....
ok , you are talking about loosing the warranty if im gettin g the phone already installed .
so what you actually suggest is to get a chinese origina l phone and then to install on it the : rom+twrp etc/ ? whree can i find the whole process to have a good rom with multilanguage+google featurs+ota updates that i wont get update it manually?

If you buy a phone from a questionable source, there is a good chance the device has been stolen and should you run into problems down the road, you will not be able to get it repaired by a licsened repair facility, You may be able to get a hacker to help you, but for the most part, you will be out of luck. I would only buy a phone from either Xiaomi themselves or a reputable licsened vendor

let me try answering all of your questions, since i have mi 11 ultra CN model with miui.eu rom.

1. how do i find the CODENAME OF my DEVICE if i want to update my miui?
mi 11 ultra codename is STAR, phone model can be seen from Settings > all specs
can also download app like HW INFO

2. if i have ota updates , is it mean that the updates would be pushed inside the device automatically without doing all the process you talking about? even tough im not in china?
OTA updates is full MIUI.eu rom download, can be done from Updater in Settings, it'll reboot to TWRP and you have to choose the downloaded ROM from TWRP

3. if ill buy the device with the global rom, will ill get the updates automatically? or both rom needs manually updates altough its written that he has ota?
If it's a Global device with global rom, then it's truly OTA without TWRP.
If it's a Global/Chinese device (doesn;t matter which one) with XIAOMI.eu rom, then it's an update through TWRP (as explained in question #2)

4. whats the purposse of the "twrp"?
it's a custom recovery, basics are to install custom ROM/Kernel/module to your phone.

if possible, only buy one BNIB, with locked bootloader, you can unlock the bootloader yourself and install MIUI.eu rom, use tutorial in this forum.
if you buy the already unlocked one, there's a chance when you're formatting data, and start new, it'll ask for previously signed in account for that phone, which is the seller's number. you won't be able to progress without OTP from the seller. but if the seller is smart, they should've removed their account beforehand, so it won't prompt in the future

2 EU OTA is semi-automatic. Needed to open TWRP and install the zip.
3 Official Global rom is always automatic OTA
4TWRP is a tool for installing extra stuff like a custom rom.
MY ADVISE:
DO NOT BUY a phone you do not manage to unlock the bootloader yourself with your own MIUI account.
Other way are leading (one day or another) to potential issue.

but you're just repeating my answers to him.
should've answered him like that previously rather than your previous answers...

unfortunately, with miui.eu rom, some manual steps are needed when updating rom, but it's easy, no need to worry.
it has Hebrew, google features, and this semi ota update

for installation method and rom, check this https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...iaomi-eu-rom-for-xiaomi-mi11-pro-ultra.59486/

just remember, first time installing a new rom (from CN stock to miui.eu for example), has to format data from TWRP.

This is a fairly old post and I hope is OK to ask here, because it pertains to my concern. I have ordered a Xiaomi 13 Ultra from tradingshenzen with this option: XIAOMI.EU TWRP Firmware (unlocked) = Saftynet Passed + OTA TWRP Updates + Widevine Level 1

Because Xiaomi is making hard for non-Chinese users to unlock the bootloader, it seemed the natural thing to do; but even before reading this post, I was thinking the same, that not unlocking the bootloader myself, with my own (xiaomi) account, could potentially bring troubles.

So is LOLO9393 reply still relevant today? Is something I should be aware of, something I should tradingshenzen, etc?

Sorry if it sounds silly, and thank you in advance.

I think it is. I never faced it directly, but my understanding is that if for some reason you lock the bootloader, to unlock it again, you may need to use the account used the first time.

An important information is that the ROM no longer pass SafetyNet by default, you will need to root and install modules.

This is exactly why i’m concerned about. I’ll ask Tradingshenzen if I could get help in extreme situations, once the smartphone will arrive, but I have no idea what to ask for or if that’s even possible. Not having complete control over my own stuff bothers me like hell.

Anyway — I appreciate your help. Cheers.
