1. Possible solution is to replace bootloader files of your updated rom with prior files that doesn't trigger ARP.

Not sure at the time of post, which files you would need to replace.

Maybe @ingbrzy could tell us the exact file to change.

2. If you already triggered ARP, then over on XDA a solution to allow use of fastboot, has been provided.

Now there is eu rom 8.7.12 v2 without the firmware folder.
So from now on we can downgrade future roms to that version.

Firmware folder removed from our whyred rom.. So you can install any of our newer roms after 8.7.12 without device brick.. Do not install older than 8.7.12 or miui 9..

Handy, I would still check future rom zips that the firmware folder is removed, before flashing.

firmware-update <<<< Is the name of the folder, should be missing from rom zip.

No you can not restore a prior bootloader and rom, if you have triggered ARP. It would brick your device.
