Why won't Xiaomi update to 4.3 Jelly bean or higher?

As the title say.

Is there a reason why we've never got an official update to Miui using Jelly bean 4.3? Is there any chance we might get a 4.4 Kitkat update?

With all these weekly updated you'd think we would have got an Android OS update as well at some point.

yes...

No. But we've seen a photo of MIUI v5 based on Android 4.3. It was a MI-3 WCDMA running it, so we are guessing other MI Phones will get MIUI update but... this might come next year.

Does it really make a difference?
Miui is android, but will we fell a difference?

I am waiting for them to optimize battery for xiaomi phone's

actually it's not a big deal, most of "new" features are already built in MIUI, I would rather much more a kernel with undervolt for MIUI. On my side, they can go straight with android 5, optimization usually it's more effective than android version upgrade, Btw probably they'll release a 4.3.1 soon as shown in the screenshot above

Unused ram is wasted ram. I do agree about the performance however.

I know but I tested it without any apps installed. In the end it means u have more ram for games and multitasking

Best feature would be trim since 4.3. Improves io performance.

Whenever I run lagfix, it always finishes really quickly; within a second! Not sure if it's doing much?

I still kind of don't understand why we don't have a 4.2.2 update. They take all this time to port for the galaxy s4 and HTC one and many other devices have 4.2.2 but leave Us sitting at 4.1.1

^ would just make sense to give us 4.4, as the updates from 4.1 to 4.2 are minimal.

It does make sense but the fact that 4.2.2 miui has been around since around since this spring and we haven't seen a update yet is pretty sad. They spend a lot of time on other devices but not there own. They should change this.
