Update redmi 4 after 3 years

My brother bought a redmi 4 prime in Dec 2016. He's still on xiaomi.eu 6.12.29
What is the easiest option to update this device? Stay on xiaomi.eu or switch to official Rom? If we keep xiaomi.eu which new version is the right one and can we update straight from this very old one or do we have to do it in several update steps? Thx

hello people, i still have and using a redmi 4 prime/pro.
with the MIUI 10.3 by xiaomi.eu 9.1.3 Beta

should i change to stable?
and if so, i just do the same way as for the rom´s from xiaomi.eu by fastboot?

is any other rom i should install?

since its EOL i do not have any security updates...
