Unable to install 3.8.30 to LG optimus 2X

I am currently using MIUI build 202030

I have downloaded the unofficial rom 3.8.30 for the phone LG optimus 2X but when I install it from the rom manager the installation process completes but when the phone reboots I still have the old version..?
what to do??

Did you try installing from.. Recovery?

Hm.. going to Updater app and hit Menu button and then Reboot to recovery.
This is how you install roms, do wipe etc.

I think you should read before doing something because I think you have zero knowledge about MIUI or custom roms.
You have very old MIUI and want to change with one of the newest roms from MIUI v5 base. This requires full wipe of your device. So you would need to backup all your data and format /system before installing new MIUI.

I went to the updater App and into reboot to recovery ...but after that the phone reboots and starts normally and I do not get a option to install roms.

I am having the old MIUI.us version, they have stopped giving update for LGP990, but I found unofficial rom 3.8.30 on this website so I decided to install it.
