Root With Ota

Hi,

I got my phone unlocked for a while and update the weekly beta roms from here with TWP. Yet as my dad (which uses the mix2 with EU rom also) wants to merge his old WhatsApp chat database from the iPhone on the MIX2 I need to have root to be able to decrypt this database.

And here It's a bit unclear for me as I couldn't find the right topic on this one. Will OTA work (Xiaomi.eu) and which root method should I use? I need root for just this matter and prefer to remove root access afterwards.

If you make a backup of whatsapp chat (Google drive backup not needed) you get a chatsettingsbackup.db.crypt1 file on you sdcard (/sdcard/WhatsApp/Backups), you can decript it without root.

Hi, I need root for wazzapmigrator. So manually having chatsettingsbackup.db will not help me I guess. The app needs root for it.
