Latest roms from miui gave me trouble. Even the stables. So I took the jump installing miui8 alpha English on my mi4 ... after some initial errors it works since yesterday. And flawlessly I might add. To my own surprise.
Used trwp. Added a SuperSU, adaway, greenery, custom font, custom emojis... etc. Bt, wifi, data, miband, camera, gallery, mail, sync, xiaomi... all smooth.
Battery good!
So I have good hopes for sebsch works!

Personally I'm just happy my phone works again without blackouts.

Just before it went down, I saw the developer version is based on 6.5.5...
Anyone feedback how stable this version is?

Or do you recommend to use the stable version witch seems to use V7.2.5.0 ?

But what do you mean with eu 7.3.2.0?
If I looked at sMIUI the stable version there was 7.2.5.0.

So is eu 7.3.2.0 referring to the stock MIUI rom?

And any reason for recommending this? Are you using this version on a Mi2s?

I just checked the xiaomi.eu versions and latest for Mi2s is the xiaomi.eu_multi_aries_V7.2.5.0.LXACNDA_v7-5.0.zip version.

So eu 7.3.2.0 doesn't even exist for my device... ;-)

I just tried to install sMIUI stable on my Mi2s (sMiUI_v7_aries_V7.2.5.0.LXACNDA_GHXEV4) but it fails !!!
I have TWRP v2.8.7.0 installed, which is the latest offered for my device on smiui.net or xiaomi.eu

Error I get is:
Failed to extract dir from "system" to "/system"

Any idea on how to solve?
My current version was still an old WIUI rom with system1 & system2, so I installed TWRP and then tried to install sMiUI_v7_aries_V7.2.5.0.LXACNDA_GHXEV4, but no go :-(

=> Nevermind...

Solved it by first installing the official MIUI version via PC suite and fastboot...
Then reinstalled TWRP, and then no problem to install sMIUI...

Now booting...
Let's see if I like it...

Hi,

For "Failed to extract dir from "system" to "/system""

You can just wipe, install -> error -> reboot in recovery from recovery and reinstall the rom without wipe.

On smiui.net they say they ll focus on stable roms only in order to improve stability; this makes smiui a lot less interesting imho, kinda left behind.

They say there will be (maybe) a last smiui 7 before moving to 8.

As a big fan of smiui i'm a bit disappointed, i hope something will change
