I'd wait for 4.5 where it will be default

Hey people i just received my Xiaomi Mi2S.
Its very cool but i can't read the fricking chinese! Even tough i set the language on English, many 'deeper' settings are still in chinese scritch-scratch symbols
So im waiting for the first stable CM Rom, hopefully with explanatory step-by-step guide!

cm does not have "stable" releases any more, this one works nice for daily use.

or you can flash wiui, it is also very nice.

ok a bit more info from my side.
As my company made it even worse updating policies and forcing us to encrypt the sd card as well I got stuck this morning with MIUI ROM as well.
Some more things tried and all with same result of not being able to encrypt the device. ( so it looks it is a Mi2s issue instead of a CM11 /CWM one )

TWRP - CM 10.2 -> no encrypt. stuck with green droid robot after accepting encryption of the phone.
CWM - CM10.2 -> same
TWRP - CM 11.0 -> same
CWM - CM 11.0 -> same
Miui default bootloader -> message that my device doesn''t support required security setttings like phone encryption / sdcard encryption

Afraid I am going to end up pretty soon buying another phone unless someone comes up with the solution. ( if there is one )

found a workaround. patch the email apps so they cheat on the exchange server policies.
not tried yet though on 4.4 but it works in 4.3 ( 10.2)

Then flash cwm, enable tdb, flash cm, flash gapps, enjoy

Btw xiaomi sells only sim free and unlocked bootloader phones (dunno if mipad is unlocked too)
And they only think that because of miui xiaomi is a totally sh!t
I think for the next year they'll start going the same for Cyanogen.inc and OnePlus. Reasons? They're a company dude, this mean that a professional ROM is not a rom. Use omni instead that it takes 60% of code from cm

Edit: first let me make a little commit to our device tree, then my PC is ready to make some pizzas

Seriously there is more and more développement for those phones. Summarizing cm omni xda etc hztrrd toward xiaomi is only due to previous usage of open sources??

Oh okey ill try that then! Another thing, i just can't get my Mi2S rooted! i tried the frama root guide i found in XDA but it just says Error#7. when i look it up on the xda page it tells me that my device is not vulnerable.
What now?

Root? Why do u need root?
If u have to replace an engine of a car, do u need its keys?

Okey i always thougt that installing new rom requires root acces.
And, for example, i have a paid app Titanium Backup, wich requires root acces to fully function.
And i just think im better off when i can enable root for certain apps for better experience.

Any suggestions on how to get that damn root?

*about the car: to get to the engine, most cars have the handle to open the hood inside the car. So you need keys for that. ;-)

It's not a good analogy because if you change the engine you don't change the key, it's just a cable to plug to the new engine to keep the key system xD
