[rom] Ivan's Aosp Marshmallow 6.0 - [6.3.22]

I use it everyday. I don't need 2g/3g because battery life is good enough for me (3 hours of screen on with original 2013 battery), if camera doesn't work I reboot the phone until it works (always 100%, until next reboot) speed and smoothness is Superior to every other lollipop Rom here, Bluetooth works good in the car (however not perfect) and notifications are always on time.

Thank you very much for your detailed review! Well I guess I'll give it a try then in the next few weeks and I'll report how it works for me ;)

Ok I've tried it, but I'll go back to 5.1.1 by Ivan... First I tried the method described by Zipalign on page 3 but I just couldn't get MiFlash to work, it kept displaying errors like "mismatching image and device"... So I just flashed TWRP over the CWM I used and this seemed to work. Installing the rom went fine. After a reboot I tried flashing the Stock GApps by OpenGapps, but it resulted in an error, so I used the Mini GApps instead. After giving it the right permissions everything seemed to work instead of the contacts. I just couldn't sync the contacts app with my google account. I've tried a new clean install and flashed the stock Gapps right after, without booting the rom inbetween and no error message came, but the GApps were just missing in the rom. And after flashing the mini gapps again, I had the same result: everything syncs with my google account instead for the contacts. (I also tried the official google contacts app - same result). Furthermore I experienced a few other bugs, e.g. a few chinese symbols when making a call and the camera app (I tried the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum*) had a few problems too, it lost the connection to the camera and went all black...

UPDATE: I tried it yet again and was able to follow the steps described by Zipalign on another PC, so if you're stuck there just try out another USB port or PC. Now I have the latest ROM (6.3.22) installed and it works really well. I was now able to sync the contacts and didn't find another bug. Well the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* still doesn't work but I figuered out it's a problem with the app that occurs for many users, so I use a Cyanogen Cam instead. I can now recommend this ROM. BTW, before I flashed it, I formatted the storage in f2fs and it may run a little smoother - don't know if it's thanks to that or just Android M in general.

Some tweaks that the success is in discussion with one forum-friend. flash with f2fs, only the data partition. That's lot faster and bug-free. Don't use OpenGapps. I don't know why, but every f... time something happens with these gapps. Third try the original KK miuiv5-to-aosp-ported camera of M1cha. Everything should work better. And better includes the quality of this beast that we have lost after miuiv6. And when you are booting, just open this camera app, and we are sure that everything will run smooth (about camera). These our "tweaks". Ah, don't ever try Intel3g (or sth like this) xda module, this will destroy your data mapping. We are waiting the hear about your experience about this rom after some weeks. good luck

Thank you very much for your tips! I will try it out soon! So only the data partition should be formatted in f2fs? The other partitions in ext4? Is it possible to do a backup of the current system and restore it on the newly formatted partition? Are there any Gapps you can recommend? I'd like to use stock gapps - maybe so that they replace some stock apps automatically...

And one last thing: In my battery statistics there's always a big part of the usage just "other" - sometimes over 40%... Do you know what can cause this?

Again thanks and thank you in advance ;)

I use PA Gapps
The ext4 is the standard one.
You cannot restore anything. Even if you can do this, it will be a draw back.
I don't know about the others. But i think it's a batch of mini apps like the 14% I don't know answers in the research

ps if you mean, restore from titanium backup it's another world. I recommend that

I don't know from own experience, but from reading, about restoring a backup, see step 13 in this manual:

Hi!

I was trying to format Data with f2fs, but in TWRP v3.0.0 this option doesn't appear. How do you format in f2fs?

thanks.

format need in TWRP setting to rm -rf only not wipe, if your format your system to f2fs and setting TWRP still wipe your partition will wipped to ext4 before install/restore rom, tx

Thanks but that is not the problem

Mmmm i don't remember what's say my phone, i don't have it anymore. But I remember to touch the + icon and create a new APN. Can you create an APN?

Copy this file in the /system/etc directory, it has all the APN of MIUI.

I can add but It doesn't save it so I changed the archive...But I now I think I have to enable roaming but I don't know how...Now appears a lowi 3g in the carrier name but if I use *#*#4636#*## network appears disconnected

Hi guys,
I've made awhile back a modded framework-res.apk that allows the use of Google's network location provider instead of Baidu.
The .bak file is a backup of ivan's framework-res.apk

Here's the link for anyone interested.

How to replace right?

After one year and more I decided to buy Redmi Note 4, and since the MIUI versions of Mi2S have the music lag, I changed to AOSP, and I flashed a brand new nano opengapps along with xposed and other stuff on a clean F2FS partition. When the phone boots, it starts the "Google Play Services Crashed" thing, and then I remembered that this is cause due to one big permission false. So in order to dissapear this, you should go to Settings->Apps->SystemApps-> (choose google play, play services and others) -> Permissions and turn on everything. That was the problem that I solved flashing another gapps package, but it's simple and annoying as that. I remembered that we had such a conversation, and I felt that I should mention this even after too much time.

Hello guys, I'm thinking of installing this ROM on my Mi2s, as CM 12.1 by bugers is affected by https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/64434571 this bug. What do I have to do, to set it up correctly?
1) format /data to f2fs using TWRP
2) flash ROM using TWRP
3) get APN working (can someone please confirm the best working solution?)
4) install the moded framework-res.apk to change location provider form Baidu to Google
5) install GAPPS
Did I miss anything? Is bluetooth audio (for media) working? (I don't really mind, if I had to reconnect few times, or turn BT on/off as long as I don't have to reboot the phone) Does 2G connection work, when there is no 3G? Can I flash SuperSU?
Thanks

1) Format it, true speed
2) Yes, I flashed this with 2.8.7.0 because in the latest I cannot find F2FS (weird)
3) Apn for what? I don't know so I will not confuse you
4) Location provider I think is from google already, first time I heard this, my gps signal is awesome with FasterGPS app from F-droid
5) Gapps, choose a Lite package of opengapps, but DON'T Forget to go to permissions and allow all the gapps because FC's will get you crazy
6) BT working flawlessly
7) 2/3G working great, but you cannot choose 3g only or vice versa.
8) Flash superSU or Magisk, I have magisk with xposed 88.1, everything great.
9) Nova launcher for "eye" tweaks as this rom has no theme engine active.

Thanks, I will probably try it out during weekend. On previous pages people discussed that mobile data connection doesn't work without manually setting up APN, but it is somehow bugged, I will se how that will work out for me. Thanks for your response.
Btw: Isn't it possible to use Substratum for visual tweaks? Although I don't really care about much of eye candy as long as ROM works well

No substratum support. It can really do nothing , I tried some times, but the outcome was the same disastrous.

Thank you, I'm already using the AOSP 8.1 ROM and since I always carry my powerbank with me, deep sleep issues aren't much of a problem for me. It's amazing how far this device got.
