Pumbaster from 4pda introduced a pretty usable and stable CM11 for MiPad. With True Dual Boot Support!

Original Thread http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=632766&st=0#entry36924950 (Russian Forum)
XDA Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-crdroid-xiaomi-mipad-t3005612

Step by Step Guide:

1. Install CWM Recovery: http://en.miui.com/thread-65770-1-1.html

(Easiest Method is via Updater App)

  • Mi Pad with MIUI 4.12.2 or later (having a dedicated Updater app)
  • Stock MI-Recovery 2.0.1
  • file Update_CWM_recovery_6.0.5.0_MiPad.zip
Steps:
  • Download the file Update_CWM_recovery_MiPad_6.0.5.0.zip to your PC (because download via browser on phone sometimes is not working properly)
  • Connect your Mi Pad via USB to PC
  • Copy the file Update_CWM_recovery_MiPad_6.0.5.0.zip to the folder 'Computer\MI PAD\Internal storage' (root folder of internal storage)
  • Disconnect your Mi Pad properly from USB ('Safely Remove Hardware...')
  • Launch the Updater app, from the menu choose 'Select update package' and from Internal storageselect the file Update_CWM_recovery_MiPad_6.0.5.0.zip
  • Your recovery will now get updated and when finished you need to confirm to reboot
  • For checking after the reboot you can now reboot into CWM recovery by starting the Updater app again and choosing from the menu 'Reboot to Recovery mode'
  • Enjoy CWM recovery

2. Setup True Dual Boot (Original by codeVerine on Miui Forum -> http://en.miui.com/thread-40991-1-1.html)

2.1. Take a CWM backup of your current MIUI V6 system.
2.2. Disable TrueDualBoot in CWM (choose wipe) and reboot recovery
2.3. Do a factory reset on both systems (system1 & system2)
2.4. Clear cache
2.5. Clear Dalvik Cache of both systems (system1 & system2)
2.6. Format both system partitions (system1 & system2)
2.7. Format both data partitions (data1 & data2)
2.8. Flash CM 11 zip in SYSTEM1
2.9. Flash GAPPS in system1 (optional)
2.10. Enable TrueDualBoot in CWM (choose wipe) and reboot recovery
2.11. Restore CWM backup of your previous system to SYSTEM2
2.12. Voila!! Now choose your default system. (System1 for CM & System2 for MIUI). Have fun with CM11

When someone speak russian, is it possible, here to publish the new builds? Thanks!

keep having issues with sdcard mounting in CWM by the way. Reinstalled stock miui using fastboot, set up everything afterwards again and the internal sdcard hardly ever seems to mount still.

If i go to 'install zip' in CWM and choose 'choose zip from /sdcard' I do see the 0 folder, but in there is only a clockworkmod folder... nothing else. As a result nandroid-backups don't work for the apps ( ".android_secure not found" message ).

The sdcard works fine in CM11 itself and MIUI, and on occasion it seems to work in CWM as well. But these occasions are very sparse...

*EDIT*
Seems TDB is messing up the mounting of the internal sdcard somehow. I decided to disable it as I do value the possibility of making CWM backups every now and then. Also, CM11 seems to be stable and good enough already to use as a daily driver anyway ;)

@FlipStone I had exactly the same issue (I thought was my problem). I ended up using CM11 only and I also disabled TDB, and it seems my system1 and 2 are both reboot into the same CM11? I don't know, I just use it. I don't know how to flash MIUI back into it.

Besides, in certain apps (where there's no visible menu dropdown), I find no way to access the menu. Take for example, Chrome browser. Anyone?

Good to hear I'm not the only one...

About menus, as erlkonig above posted... I also remapped the home button to long press for menu. But in chrome I actually do see the menus? (Top right, next to the address bar?)

New build btw, the previous 14/01 was buggy apparently and this one is cleaner with some minor tweaks (can be found in the 4pda.ru thread):

That's weird, the menu icon isn't appearing on my chrome (downloaded from Playstore, not the flashed one). But double tap home button to bring up the menu works, thanks to you and @erlkönig :)

Do I just reflash this using "install zip" and does this wipe my existing data? thank you!

I just flashed it over mine and everything remained intact (as far as I remember now). Been flashing and reflashing and backing up and restoring so much now I kind of lost track :p

I just re-flashed it, yes everything remains intact, and surprisingly it does seem more stabilised (and I can see the menu icon in Chrome now). :D

Seem to have an issue with Bluetooth using a lot of battery in the latest build, even though it's turned off. Perhaps a wipe is needed after... now turned Bluetooth on to see how it acts when turned on...

Can someone provide a Changelog? My Russian is not so good I could translate it... Yes 14/1 was unstable Browser force closes graphic glitches... Let's try the new build

Hi all,
Pumbaster said on xda forum :
Well, about new build and what changes.
Get rid of Temasek due to huge amount of problems reported and reverted back to raw CM11 + some crDroid's UI tweaks.

Question for those running CM, is there the balanced/performance setting ?

There's no Mipad on cyanogenmod supported devices, event though unofficial devices http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Unofficial_Ports. So flash ROM with risk

so you are warning others, that an UNOFFICIAL rom containing "UNOFFICIAL" in its filename, is UNOFFICIAL.

thanks, for this clarification.

Rom works fine for me, smoother/faster than miui.

Batterylife was good on 20150114 build, but have to monitor this longer..
Encountered a weird issue somehow, miui6 VLC playback of 1080p50 h.264 works smooth and perfect, but stutters in CM. mxplayer seems to work better here, so its okay.
