Not surprising, Xiaomi have officially stated it won't work. But it's possible to do yourself for free with the resources mentioned in this thread. $20 is quite reasonable though.

I have tried the free ways and it was time consuming for me, I spent over a week trying and never worked for me. I reached out to few paid services but they were all expensive until someone referred me to that guy who does it for $20. I can not post his contact details on the forum as it is not allowed. Feel free to message me if you need help
