They are still there, for me... :-(
I'm thinking of buying another phone/brand...

BTW since many people say they want a phone I develop for it would be great if many people would like to have the same phone.

This way we wouldn't split the community, too :)
Maybe we'll find a perfect mi2 successor :D

I don't understand what you mean by this?

Since I use cyanogenmod 11 I didn't have it since "cm-11-20140425" I did however have this problem allot on "cm-11-20140405"

I don't know what changed, i would love to have MIUI on my second partition again the poll says half of the people here have it still no one knows what causes this? The only builds i didn't try where the official MIUI.com builds. To be honest i wouldn't care if its an old version, but i don't have a clue at which build this started.

It was just for people who want to buy a new device for whatever reason.

However I don't think its a software issue that's why no ROM can fix it.
Some devices have the issue from the beginning, some get it after some time and some are very lucky and will never get it.

I have experienced the same ghost touches with MIUI and WIUI, now I am using Mokee and for a month everything were smooth, until yesterday when I tried WIUI again, in 10 minutes I was with the first ghost touches so I am back at Mokee

I've got them with mokee too (I have mokee on my 2nd partition).
I can't believe that there are no parameters to play with.
By browsing the kernel i've found where some binary blob is loaded in the touch device.
Understanding the content of that blob is beyond me.
This issue is making me really nervous.

I have mokee on partition one, but I don't think that makes any difference. I have not seen any of this complains in the official english forum, and its very annoying problem

The thing is the issue is not limited to xiaomi devices, I found some posts from Samsung, HTC and even apple device owners. But problem is not wide spread. As I see from those posts there are two options to fix it, either play with drivers either replace touch panel. I wrote a long mail to my phone seller, gonna wait an answer.

Those with ghost touches are u using any kind of screen protector? If yes try it to remove and post result. I've got ghost touches and changed ROM to cm11 and screen protector and didn't get one.

I tried both: with and without screen protector.
The one I have now on the screen is even an "original" one, bought directly from xiaomi.
Apparently I've got no change.
It looks like, however, that the last cm11 from M1cha made this problem appear more seldom than the previous one.

I am now using JLB34 from the official MIUI site 3 days ago. Installed it from scratch I havent had any problems so far, no one on the official MIUI site is reporting this problem. I really think that it is something with the miuiandroid version, the only thing that i am missing the better translated english in the themestore.

Why doesn't miuiandroid build JLB version?

I removed all the chinese crap, flashed google apps and it works very stable. The problem started like 3 or 4 months ago every build before seems to work fine for me. A friend also had tis problem and reverted back to an old build and his problem seems to be gone too.

Edit: http://en.miui.com/download-2.html (This build)

I tried 22, 24 and few latest versions of official stable Rom, no luck. Sent phone back to seller (ibuygou), they received it today, will see what they find/do/tell.

I tested my XIAOMI MI2S with the latest miui stock rom, with cm11 and now with the latest WIUI rom. The phantom touches are still there (sometimes more, sometimes less), so it's definitely hardware related. My guess is that the touchscreen is too heaviley attached to the display and that's why it is triggering all these phantom touches. Maybe loosing the screws a bit would do the trick or a bit of plastic like in this case:

has anybody in this forum outside of china tried to get it repaired by XIAOMI?

@moderis: What about very old official builds?

I can't imagine that no one on MIUI.com has this problem... And that no one found a solution.

Actually I'm from Europe, dhl took 2 days to deliver phone to China, now it is up to them. Also ghost touches were very rare, but touch panel lost sensitivity a lot, from once a day, to several times a hour.

I am from Europe as well (Germany). How much was it to ship the phone back to China? Or did XIAOMI pay for it?

I recommend to try also WIUI EX version.
After loading it on mine, I never experienced any more troubles for about 1.5 months

Paid about 20€, I hope seller will pay for back delivery. And it was ibuygou not xiaomi. Also they asked for same tricks as they use for sending, low value, gift, MP3 player in declaration.

I tried WIUI EX version i still have had it.

I still have it on JLB34 to :(

While on CM11 they are very very rare.

I noticed that this problem is more likely to happen (in my case) when I start a game or when I use Firefox.
Could it be related, somehow, to the graphic engine/chip?
Maybe using the graphic chip increases the inside temperature of the phone and it's affecting the touch chip?

I have micro ghost touches now.
You don't see them and they don't do anything when tapping around.

But when I'm scrolling he's always zooming. I just can't scroll without triggering zoom anymore.

EDIT: seems to be a problem with CM's idc file. will be fixed in next build.

I just installed trickster mod and I'm trying to keep the GPU clock max at 200 MHz. I'll see what happens....
