We can't fix it until there's an up-to-date Global ROM for Mi 9.
This is a common issue to all China Pie ROMs for Snapdragon 845/855.

Just installed stable V10.2.16.0.PFACNXM_v10-9 on my MI 9, and "ok google" and voice match, doesn't work yet.
Maybe it is not fixed yet.
I can't wait :-D :-D

The same with my Mix2S. You wrote yes about all Snapdragon 845/855 phones.
Hope that Xiaomi will solve it soon. Very annoying

There is no solution for Snapdragon 855.
Even on Snapdragon 845, OK Google seems to malfunction after several minutes.
Nothing we can do about it right now.

I have a Mi 9 (still) with MIUI Global 10.2 | Stable 10.2.17.0(PFAEUXM).

My Google Assistant keeps popping up randomnly... I've tried everything... Disabling it, disabling voice match, disabling the GA itself but a pop-up asking to activate it shows up anyway when it tries to pop up, I've even tried to reset the phone and setting it up as a new phone and it still occurs...Everything is up to date...
It happens even with the phone sitting on a table... without no one touching it...
It is really annoying...

Anyone else noticed this? Thinking on returning the phone...

We don't give support to official Global ROMs, so no point in asking this in Bugs subforum... you may ask in "Mi General" or "Question & Answers" subforums, maybe someone can answer your question, or better yet on official MIUI forums.

Not likely, we assume that it was done on purpose, as Global ROM has certain files which are different and OK Google works there.

If you read this thread, you will find my quite clear answer. Use Global ROM if OK Google is that important to you.
If we ever manage to solve this, we will write so in the changelog.
