Note 5 China Rom Question

Hello!
I have bought Redmi Note 5 Ai 6/64 Gb, also known as Redmi Note 5, China version.
ROM with wihch device have came is miui_HMNote5_V9.5.12.0.OEICNFA_52780e6b7c_8.1.

I have also unlocked bootloader, without any problem or issue (they give me approval in few hours, after i have give them my request for unlocking).
After that, i have also installed latest official TWRP, also without any issue, and just after TWRP installation, i have installed your latest ROM. for whyred, namely xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote5Pro_V9.2.4.0.NEIMIEK_v9-7.1.zip

Now, almost everything i have tried is working quick, fine and excellent!

My only issue is that camera is not working at all!

Camera app crushes, immediately after running i see, in quick moment, black screen and return to usual home screen, in blink of an aye.

Can You help me, please?!

P.S.
There is no face unlock option, like in ROM with which device have came but i believe that this is option which will be added in ROM based on Oreo?

Same here. I had to get rid of miui and I have installed Lineage instead. Everything work as expected, but in my opinion, camera quality is not the same even though I have tried with some modded *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* and api2 enabled.

Unfortunately I can say that LineageOS is not "Al pari" to the MIUI yet. With this I don't think on cleanness and beauty of the interface witch is, in my humble opinion greatly on the LineageOS side. Thing is that after some time of using it (not long, couple of hours) man can see that there is still long way in front of this ROM and it's still in quite beta state. It will be great, if some day this could be daily driver on this phone. For example! In despite all chinese bloatware, phone is still smoother and quicker on official MIUI ROM than on LineageOS ROM. After some time, menus becomes hard to read (font or GUI rendering issue maybe?). Missing VoLTE function. And so on, and so on...

R u sure about that? Mine works flawlessly. Though I've installed it yesterday. But it is super fast compared to my previous redmi 4 prime.

Unfortunately I am . I would also like that this LineageOS work like a charm, but it isn't. I'm also in favor of LineageOS simplicity and usability. Maybe, after few additional iterations and when ROM leaves beta state, then maybe...

In fact, if You look at leaked global ROM, which is Oreo based, which i'm currently using as main driver, this same ROM is for Redmi Note 5 AI (china) and Redmi Note 5 Pro (india)! This is ONLY global ROM, Oreo based, with working camera, without Chinese crap, and with preinstalled Google applications.

But of course, Xiaomi wouldn't be Xiaomi so that ROM is also loaded with certain degree of bloatware crap an useless applications. And of course that ROM developer is in all his wisdom, and with great patronage from marketing and legal departments included great deal of useless and totally unneeded applications and excluded, for example, device certification in Google Play Store which is by itself pretty big thing.

Yep! Stable as a rock! Without whatsoever issues, and it's on the phone, hah, almost 2 weeks! Everything works, cameras (front-rear), gps, wifi, bluetooth, sensors, ... And yes, relatively heavy usage and battery last almost two days! For someone who is modest users, two days usage for sure!

But just as i have said on the XDA forum, there is some intentionally inconsistencies inside this ROM. Namely, i have dissected this bastard and man can see that ROM developers have intentionally disabled certain core OS options depending on chosen region. Let me give you example. In my region, they disabled VoLTE (from my knowledge in conjunction with operator), Facial recognition and Carousel wallpaper! As You can see, first two options are quite usefull (VoLTE and facial recognition). Third is a childish game (carousel wallpaper) so it's not of whatsoever importance to me, useless in fact. I hope that this help's You.

Any special step to flash this ROM or it's by the usual TWRP Recovery method ?

Yes!
First step is to flash this:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.2.7.0.N...EK_20180406.0000.00_7.1_global_179eb04f38.tgz

This is fastboot version of ROM and it's android 7.1 based, as You can see. I hope that i don't have to explain how to flash this. Just use flash_all.sh if you are on linux (prefered) or flash_all.bat if You are one Windows but then You must use miflash.
After that, when flashing is done, phone will reboot, permit rebooting and when OS boot completely and You see first setup screen, than You can freely shutdown phone. After that, enter fastboot mode and flash twrp recovery. Then reboot and enter recovery, make factory reset and after that flash this global leaked ROM. And this is it! After reboot, your twrp recovery will be overrun by the stock recovery so is it wise not to select twrp app instalation after flashing of this final rom. I hope that this help You!

Then Your best friend is Magisk.

Maybe you can immediately go with magisk_v16.4 beta.

Stable magisk_v16.0 no longer pass SafetyNet so if you use some kind of banking software, then this is especially the case.

My Global version device will come to me with MIUI 9.5 (Android 8.1) already installed on it. Can I flash this MIUI 8.5.3 by TWRP or fastboot ? Dirty flash or clean flash ?

i ordered redmi note 5 , but i got chinese version 4/64

my problem is bootloader is lock, i iwas checked on fastboot oem device-info

and then my rom version is

i got update officialy but always stuck in 99%, is not allowed to uodate from xiaomi update

then i tried to unlock via miflash unlock tool,

is show message this account not binding to this devices
