Last few days I was testing *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* Mods on Mi Max 2 and here I like to recommend this great Camera app for people who own Mi Max 2.

As we all know, Mi Max 2 use camera sensor IMX386 which is similar to Mi6 but a cheaper version of it, while it's great at shooting picture on the daylight, it suck when shooting low light picture.

*no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* takes much better picture compared to Miui Camera, especially with low light condition, the difference is huge, and there is also Potrait mode (similar to bokeh mode or lens blur).

for Mi Max 2 we can use Scrubber port or ArnovaG2 port, Scrubber port works really great and smooth, but less customize-able, where ArnovaG2 is more customize-able but problem with video shooting @1080p & 720p back camera & front cam video.

To use *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum*, 1st we need to enable Camera2 api support, easier way is to flash 'HZQ_MIUI_Camera_Mod_CAMERA2_API_170824.zip' via TWRP (download from here : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=243501), you don't need root your phone to flash the zip file.

After enabling Camera2 api, download the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* port here :

Arnova's 5.1.018_v1.6: GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.6
Scrubber_GCam_5.1.018_25

We can install both camera port at the same phone without problems.

I'm using both port (+ MIUI Camera), Scrubber port for daily use, since it's faster, pics's size is half but on very low light condition and when I need the very best picture (It's not easy to see the differences, especially if it's on phone's screen or small screen), I use Arnova's port since I can set the JPEG Quality to 100% (Scrubber is using default 95% JPEG quality and you can't change it since there is no option for that).

Note : Slow motion is not working, while there is a fix to make it works, I don't recommend it, since it crash stock MIUI Camera Video mode, we can use MIUI Camera slow motion video if we need it.

Happy shooting guys.

Scrubber *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* is so good. Can you share link when i need update?
Thanks alot.

Just installed Arnova's 5.1.018_v1.6 over v1.5, did a quick test and now the EXIF data says 'Xiaomi' instead of 'Huawei', video recording problem @1080p & 720p (for both Back Camera and Front Camera) on my Mi Max 2 also fixed, nice one.

The Scrubber port APK is shown as "corrupt" in the Security/Cleaner app when I ran it by chance.

Haven't tried installng anything yet.

Try re download or ignore security app and install, it won't install if it's really corrupted.

I tried downloading it several times, same result.

Then i went to the site and downloaded two other versions, and only the Scrubber_GCam_5.1.018_24 version shows as a normal APK, with icon, in Total Commander, and non-corrupt in the Cleaner app.

This in my Mi Mix1.

Thinking this may be device/version related.
Will test later today in my Mi Max1.

Same result in my Mi Max Prime, still on 7.12.21 eu weekly

The other Scrubber apks are shown as "[Corrupted], Version unknown" in the Cleaner app, and get no icon in Total Commander.
Also no icons in Mis Explorer.

No difference with your download link.

File size seems to be correct, have you tried to install it?

Arnova8G2 v1.6 is also good, this version is more customizable, and you can install them both.

I'm going to try these (well, not the "corrupt" ones) in the Mix1, later today, after charging, and when I can get time off from the family.:D

I'll try them later in the Max Prime after upgrading to eu weekly 8.2.1, probably not today.

You shoud just try it man... it's not like installing it will crash your phone :p
I'm using ArnovaG2 v1.6 and Scrubber 25 at the same time..

Yes, well, there are risks just rebooting into TWRP, even if the zip files you are flashing are AOK, which you never really can be shure of - the "fat finger" risk, if no other.o_O

I just did it in the Mix1, no problem except that I am no photographer, so I really have no idea what to do with the apps once I've got them up and running.:)

How do I know that the camera2 api is functional?
I can set HDR+

The "corrupt" APK files would not install - "problem parsing".

The Scrubber and *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* both produce much better low light indoor photos than Mi Camera or Open Camera.
That was really the only thing I was looking for.

Indoor photos with the Max1 have been really poor.
Haven't used the Mix1 yet very much.

Please Soebianto, explain me how to install *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* app without crash stock camera on MI5? Does it differ from the process for other devices? Which is the best port for MI5?
Thanks!

1st you need to enable camera2 api, download camera2api enabler from the link in the 1st post for your device (mi5) and flash it via TWRP.

2nd, install arnova's *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* port v1.6 for more customization.

You could also try Scrubber *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* port, it works great on my mi max 2 and i heard it works great on redmi note 4 too.

I never realise there is a risk just rebooting to TWRP, I must have been rebooting to TWRP more than 100 times on my RN3p and now Mi Max 2.

The fact that you can started *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* was the proof of camera2 api enabled already.

The risk is inherent in the fact that TWRP has root access.

The "fat finger" or human error risk is quite real, a inadvertant flick of the wrong button and you can fry your phone.

I did do the Max1 Prime also.
Scrubber does not start up, but *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* seems to work well.
Have not done anything with it after trying it out.
