Because support for Android 4.4 based MIUI just ended for cancro. No more updates on 4.4.

Xiaomi has started official beta-testing of the Marshmallow (Android 6) base MIUI for Mi3/Mi4/Mi Note. Updates based on Android 4.4 have been discontinued.
