if you have encrypted folders in TWRP, it is not a TWRP problem, it is a problem of bad ROM installation, that could have cheered for the following:

When installing a stable ROM and moving to a custom ROM or weekly ROM, and before changing the ROM I do not disable Xiaomi MI account, I do not disable passwords (In case you have enabled fingerprint reader, password, pin, facial recognition). For these reasons your phone is encrypted, that is not a TWRP problem.

The only solution is to Format data, cache, Dalvik. Read above there is a way to do it. This reboots the entire phone, and you will lose any unsaved data.

That's not the case on the Mi 9 Pro. There is currently no encryption support in any of the various versions of TWRP for the Pro afaik. The only solution for this is to turn off encryption before booting to /system. Fingerprints and passwords don't come into it, they don't affect encryption, if DM-Verity is on then the storage is encrypted whether rom security is set up or not. The major stumbling blocks with encryption on are that you have to boot to /system once before installing Magisk, so you have to install Magisk from OTG, and rom updates will also fail, necessitating a format every time you update. I just turned encryption off altogether.

Guys,
I also have a Mi 9 Pro 5G phone bought from China.
I live in Spain. My operator is Yoigo which offers 5G in Barcelona. I have the chinese Rom (android 10) and Miui 12.0.4.
I only see the 4G icon (never 5G, never 4G+). My current DL and UL speed (with 4G icon) is around 30Mbps.
Q1) Do I need to flash to a EU Rom in order to enjoy 5G?
Q2) If my chinese Rom enables me to use 5G (with which manipulation ?) , what would be the added value to flash an EU Rom ? I would be OK to use a chinese rom if 5G works (speed and icon-wise).
Q3) Maybe I am already using 5G speed but with a 4G icon (because of the Rom) although the speed is 5G?

Everytime I add a payment method to google pay, it says "couldn't finish setup to pay in shop. This phone can't be used to pay in shops. This may be because it is rooted or altered in some other way".

I have installed the latest 25.11.2020 weekly EU Rom.

I installed/flashed Magisk, I still get the same error message. what do I need to do more to get google pay to work ?

Any solutions ?

yo Hi. Unlock bootloader (wait 168 hours to do it), install TWRP, perform full backup. Install new version of rom 9.12.12, root with magisk v20, YouTube vanced, all perfect so far. Camera works perfectly without errors, NFC works perfectly sending files between devices I did not test NFC with payment. Very happy with the result.. Something minor are some translations in the case I use Spanish, in configurations they are in English, (of course there are not many, only some). And only one translation I found wrong but it is something minimal without Importance. I already thank those who collaborated to make this ROM. Keep in that way. I would like to donate to continue contributing to development. Thank you very much again.

I thought instaling magisk would solve the NFC payment via google pay but I am stuck at the google pay step.
When I add anothercard (Revolut) to my google pay I get the following error: Request failed: Your transaction cannot be completed. (OR-TAPSH-08).

Mine is ok. If you have already set up gpay before magisk, it should work.

Try clean install.

It looks like my problem is that my google playstore is not certified (under settings). How do I solve that ? In Magisk, the safety check is not OK. The cts profile is not OK. evaltype shows : hardware. basicintegrity is OK.

Hi again,

All my banking apps are working fine, my playstore is now certified. There is only one app which detects that the device is rooted although I hide it in Magisk. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and hide it again but it does not open (app from my fitness club). Is there a way I can open/use this app (cnab) ?
